A bad day. Mother in law is having heart surgery. Car died at Krogers after gas fillup. Still sitting there. Tomorrow will be better.

Hey Billyjoe, sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. I hope she's doing ok. And you're right, better days are ahead!

        No. That's an island reversal.

I am not too excited about AMZN. Yes, she had a tremendous pop, but the action since that pop has been less than inspiring. Every indicator is negative right now. Not ready to enter a long safely. Perhaps in a few days or weeks, but not now. Frankly, I think she is going to fill the gap before she does anything worth a long.

Here's my chart with a few comments. Just don't like the setup right now.

            Aci

ACI: try to buy the $65 retest--if we get it.

The chart below says Ole Archie is headed to $70 plus. We had a channel touch on Friday, calling for profit taking. Now maybe Archie will retest the
$65 marker, and give us another chance to add to our position.

                Pete,
Yes, I buy on the Toronto Exchange through Interactive Brokers. And if you do the same, look at Paramount Energy. Buy it on any pullback and never sell it. Pays .22 every month.

I really do like VPHM. I'll post charts later tonight for you (gotta go to church in a few minutes). Whatever you buy, I'd be buying that one.

LF: had profit taking channel touch on Thursday, and a black candle on Friday, i.e., should pull back on Monday, and maybe Tuesday-Wednesday. Don't know when to enter this one.

                  Pete,
This one is quite bullish. Ride and drive.

                    Grp

GRP: too far past the time to buy this one, imho. Has had a beautiful run, but
there comes a time when the price is too high. I think that this is about that time. Old man Chaiken says the money is leaving the stock right now.

                      Vphm

This one is HOT. I like it, and would buy it and ride it.
I think that the other pick should be SRE. I like it.

                          Alice,
Let's start with SOSA. I bought this baby for $11.85 and sold the .50 Oct$12.50 calls. That means that it has 5 weeks to hit $12.50 for me to take $13.00 out of this one. I bought because I see a double bottom: bullish (I see the double top, too: bearish). This thing has strong support at $11.32. I figure that if SOSA falls to $11.40, then I am going to bail. The money is flowing into the stock; the STO indicates that a bottom has been reached and an upturn is underway; the channels 1st target is $13, the 2nd target is $15. My risk/reward ratio is thus--no risk (the call covers my loss), reward of $1.15, up to $3.15+. If she pops to $12.50 and the call is exercised, my gain is almost 10% in one month. Not too bad.

NOW: note that the last three days have been up days. A minor channel short appears. If oil is down tomorrow morning, it is possible that SOSA will pullback, too. Therefore, you need to watch carefully for your entry. I suggest checking Bloomberg.com for the oil price before the market opens. That will give you a hint.

                          Here's the chart:

                            New Born Thanx So Much

NB thank you so much for such an excellent anaysis of the 4 picks above. Will use a 18.69 buy stop for VPHM ,its previous close was 18.42 and a buy stop of 46.92 for SRE whose previous close was 46.76......I prefer both stocks trade up in into a buy . The Paramount Energy you mentioned can be bought through Schwab or Scott with the call letters PMGYF I like that 22 cent monthly dividend , and I have noticed it will soon increase by 2-3 cents. I wish to purchase for my daughter's Roth Ira Account....All Earnings Dividends and capital gains TAX FREE at the end! Love that Roth IRA!

                              Alice,
Sorry I was slow to respond but my Internet service was down. CHK: my view is that the chart has been very bullish, but I would wait for a pullback to enter now. It is quite extended. I looked at the chart and I just don't see an entry right now for my style of investing.

                                Sosa

                                SOSA followers:
Oil is up $1.10 this morning (9 am EST). That SHOULD--I say *should*--mean that SOSA will rise some today. I don't know. Yes, the chart signals a channel short with Friday's action, but it also signalled one on Thursday's action, too. We shall see how it all comes out. I could be wrong and she drops.
