I don't recall your putting MSFT into this portfolio originally. If I missed it or if you want to include it for this sale then let me know the initail entry price and I will list it in your port tonight.THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR

Ski,
I've got a few older purchases that I didn't mention. Eventually as they are sold all the current positions will be on this thread. In fact here's what else I've got GISX @37.96 (since split 2-1) SPIL @6.93 ( got 10% special div. in stock) ATYT (got bought out by AMD) they forced me to take cash. So I'm doing good on everything except have a small loss on HAL which should be more than made up by the KBR distribution. You don't have to post these. Oh, paid 24.27 for the MSFT. With the 3.00 drop that day I figured it eventually would be money in the bank.

Billyjoe, I inserted MFST into your port as per your numbers. I got the closing price on MFST by taking the 21% from your entry to get the exit price. I guess that should be close enough. A very nice trade and the 21% gain offsets the MEK loss from yesterday. Makes you think how important it is to control these positions when you make a beautiful trade, hold it for months, and then lose the gains to a trade that only took a few days and wipes out the positive gains from the great trade in no time at all. Who is this woman Riverbabe and where is she coming up with these picks. Another great trade with IAAC. Again another very similiar situation where the great play and gains are offset by the larger than necessary loss in ZOLT from the day before. Perfect examples of what I was trying to explain in my commentary yesterday. Could these two examples be any clearer. You cannot let losses run and expect to make money. The gains will never be enough to offset them when they run out to far. Haven't heard from Peanuts of late. I guess with the new job he has to actually work now. Check in Peanuts! Here's todays sheet and HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE:

I started this thread, not to embarrass anyone or make anyone in particular look bad because of the results of their trades or how they control them. The whole idea was to put everyone's ports up for everyone to see their positions and how they control those trades. If my commentary or anyone elses offends someone in some fashion because of the legitimacy of their posts about how a trade worked out it is only meant in the most positive way. An honest and forthright dialogue is the only way to present an idea or to hold a dialogue. Holding back your true thoughts and feelings will only enable a continuation of a negative outcome in most cases.
So I'm not going to apologize for anything I say here if it is presented truthfully and meant to be positive. And I'm not going to stop offering up my opinions about these ports and the trades in general. When anyone here scores a big gainer or any gainer I'm the first to congratulate them on the play and the handling of the play. And besides anyone who has their portfolio up here can offer an explanation or the reasoning behind their actions to rebutt anything I or anyone else has to say.
Lye had a decent loser in X the other day and NB, who doesn't have his port posted here, called Lye out on the play. No one except Lye, who only took offense with the little smiley that NB likes to put up with his posts, took offense with anything NB had to say although Lye lost around 3500 on the trade. Does criticism and questioning your actions make you feel bad? I think so but it is the only way truthfully. It's all geared to make you think about what you are doing and hopefully the commentary will make all of us better at what we are doing. I feel strongly about all of this and none of the commentary is geared at being authorative or condescending.
Billyjoe and Riverbabe know exactly what my intentions and commentary are all about.
My comment was supposed to be a joke Ski...Doug"Trade What Is Happening...Not What You Think Is Gonna Happen"
