    Good causes

I hope you readers don't mind but....

The thought just dawned on me that while we celebrate our monetary successes in the market, it's a perfect time to think about and maybe even help out those who could use a boost.

Having said that, let's use this thread to list websites or organizations that are favorite charities of yours, just so that maybe we can spread the wealth a little. Maybe if you do something good, what goes around comes around.

Who knows, there may be some big money folks who actually tune into this board to get some stock pick pointers from time to time.

So whenever you come across a link you like, please post it on this thread. Please I know it's hard, but let's keep this thread serious and uncluttered.

    Thanks

    Ernie

Here's one I give to from time to time. It's for a NJ high school wrestler who broke his neck and was paralyzed during a match:

Both Russell Keane III and his father Russell Keane II were $$$MR. MARKET$$$ fans and subscribers. Young Russell was killed tragically on September 11 in the World Trade Center. I still have his emails that remind me about what a great guy he was.

You can read more about him here:

              Bravo

You're absolutely right. It's very easy to forget at times just how fortunate most of us are, even when it's a bad day financially.

A couple of days ago, I was whining about how long it was taking me to go through a traffic light. As I was crawling through it, and bitching about it, I glanced into the auto dealer's parking lot where I spied a guy standing there on two artificial legs. After seeing that that, I just shut up.

Someone I'm very close to is plagued with this:

              Happy investing,
              Dave

My opinion is worth no more than the price you paid for me to give it.

                Bravo is right

What a great idea. I'm going to go out and donate to a couple of the charities mentioned on this thread.

I just read that Jim Kelly's eight year old son died of Krabbe Leukodystrophy. I've never been a Buffalo Bill's fan, but I always admired Kelly's toughness and strong Christian beliefs. I've got an eight year old son myself so the news on Kelly's son seems to have hit close to home.

Here's a link to the foundation that the Kelly family started in 1997:

If some of you guys made money on GGB or another recent $$$MR. MARKET$$$ pick (especially any of you Chicago area folks), can you kick in a few sheckles for this very good cause?:

No amount is too small. You don't have to be a MM member...you lurkers can do a good thing too.

Come on, can't one of you guys kick in $10? I promised this guy that if I put this up on my website (which gets 100,000 hits per day) that he'd meet his target of $250 bucks. Check out the website, it's got a great picture of a nice looking kid holding a bowling ball or something.
