ECOL is a great play within that sector. Can't understand why BEL isn't showing any strength lately since it basically deals with contaminated soils also.
I guess BEL lacks several important things. One being the ability to nail down the big contracts. If you take a look at ECOL's board members you'll see why they get the job done. I think to compare ECOL to BEL is like comparing Walmart to Roses.... Now since BEL does have some nice facilities to treat contaminated soil and evidentially has capacity.... they could very well be a buyout target by a company like ECOL. I may be interested in speculating on some BEL shares in the $2.50 range....
I'll post more on my SIRF short play later Ski.... Have a great evening dude.... and try not to watch too many more sad movies this weekend. If you start doing that with Mrs. Ski too often?.... she'll always be bringin' them tear-jerkers home and you'll never get to watch the Godfather again.lolBEEF!... it's whats for dinner!

Likd good friends, good wives are hard to come by an I'm a lucky guy to have Mrs. Ski. She also always forgives me.
Actually I brought the video home. It's about the boxing career of James J. Braddock who eventually beat Max Baer for the heavyweight title in 1935. Some friends told me that it was very good an we finally got to watch it. It took place during the depression era an he was a pretty decent guy who loved boxing and his family even moreso. Being the family orientated man that you are I know you would like it alot. They had a rough patch there for awhile but endured alot of hardship to come out intact as a family unit and he actually does become world champion. Lots and lots of great fight scenes with plenty of blood and guts. Russell Crowe is Braddock.
Actually I wasn't thinking of comparing BEL to ECOL because I agree with what you stated. Just thought the sector was strong and that BEL might pick up on some of that but doesn't seem to have benefited. I'm also looking to get into BEL when an if it bottoms soon. Great play for you with ECOL an always happy to see people making money. Good night and good luck Lye.THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR

Ski,
I'm sure you know Max Baer Jr. = Jethro Bodine . Hey, wouldn't it be great to own both ECOL and BEL if ECOL bought out BEL? The amount of contaminated soil in US and Canada must be growing at an alarming rate. They could eventually be bigger than oil stocks and I don't see as much competition.

My wife an I were talking about that yesterday while watching the movie. I thought that Max Baer Jr. played a character in some TV show about a husband and wife team of private detectives or something. Wasn't he their butler/driver/confidant or something or was that Max Baer Sr. and Jr. was Jethro on the Beverley Hillbilleys. I think you're right.
I had to go back and search the Briefing.com archives to get that article I saw on VLTS just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. Usually I know what I see during the weekdays but coming off a weekend sometimes it might take me all day Monday to air it out a little and get my full head on and back together. Anyway I found the article in their archives and here it is:

Mr Market Stock Contest 2006
Close on 4/28/2006
Mickey is still $$$HUGE$$$...But Lye and Karel are closing the Gap
Lye's ECOL and Karel's CELL are steadily climbing...Mickey rebounded this week and still holds a commanding lead...But who knows??? One bad report and...
One notable move this week was Ninner's ADAM up over 18% going into earnings which will be announced on May 3rd.
Our A/D/U for the week was OK at 15/10/1 but our YTD dropped to 15/11/0 from 17/9/0 last week as Mr. M's BEL went red and Sled's FORD fell apart dropping 42% on EPS after gaining over 13% last week...FORD is back to red now.
Our overall % gain YTD dropped a tad to +14.18% from +14.56% last week.
Of course...we are still kickin' the cr*p outta the CSSGX which is +11.85% YTD...I use the open on 1/3/06 for the indices and the close on 1/3/06 for the CSSGX because funds are only priced at eod.
