    Quasi-Ernie...I have two questions.

    1. When I look ECOL up on Yahoo, I get this message along with the price..."ECOL has failed to meet NASDAQ National Market continued listing requirement(s)." What kind of Vulcan message is this?

    2. Are you'r biceps 19" like Mr Markets? Or, do you actually consider yourself a "Quasi" Mr Market? What the h--- does Quasi mean?

      I like JAH....

This is one of my favorite growth stocks fellas.... I think it's worthy of consideration. Here's the 1st Qtr report from earlier today.... Listen to the CC..... It's a stock worth about $60 imo. High RV, Low P/E, Low P/S, High GRT....

Jarden Reports 2006 First Quarter Results
RYE, N.Y., May 4, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Jarden Corporation (NYSE: JAH) today reported its financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2006, net sales increased 52% to $792 million compared to $521 million for the same period in the previous year. Net income was $5.7 million, or $0.09 per diluted share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, compared to a net loss of $22.0 million, or ($0.51) per common share, in the first quarter of 2005. On a non-GAAP basis, as adjusted net income was $15.8 million, or $0.24 per diluted share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, compared to $15.8 million, or $0.25 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2005. Please see the schedule accompanying this release for the reconciliation of GAAP to non-GAAP net income and diluted earnings per share. Current year amounts include the results of operations from the American Household and Holmes Group businesses, which were acquired in January 2005 and July 2005, respectively.

Martin E. Franklin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "I am delighted that all of our businesses have started 2006 on such a positive note and that the steps we took in the fourth quarter to integrate our recent acquisitions delivered tangible benefits. Specifically, our strong organic sales growth helped to fuel improved profitability and deliver better than anticipated as adjusted net income and earnings per share, by partially offsetting the first quarter dilutive impact of the Holmes transaction, foreign exchange movements, and raw material cost increases."

Mr. Franklin continued, "The integration process within our Consumer Solutions business is proceeding well and we were able to realize synergies from this restructuring faster than originally budgeted. Our new product development pipeline is starting to drive margin expansion and the growth in our businesses more than offset any inventory reduction initiatives at some of our customers. We look forward to the rest of 2006 with renewed optimism. The macro environment remains volatile, particularly on the raw material and energy cost side, but we believe that overall sales and margins are tracking to put us in a position to meet our financial goals in 2006, as well as our overall three year financial targets."

The Company will be holding a conference call at 9:45 a.m. (EDT) today, May 4, 2006, to further discuss its results and respond to questions. The call will be accessible via a webcast through the Company's website at http://www.jarden.com and will be archived online until May 18, 2006.

        Greetings Mr.Websman,
It is indeed an honor for one so esteemed as the Great Websman to visit my humble thread. In response to your questions :

        1. Nothing to worry about , a mere technicality . Go to Google Finance get a ECOL quote , look at news story to the left "American Ecology Responds to Nasdaq Staff Deficiency Letter.

        2. My biceps are not 19". This will be evident when my avatar is revealed.
Quasi is defined as "as if, approximately, in some sense or degree" .
Floating in cyber space all these years has taken it's toll on my biceps...Quasi

Just SEC red tape on ECOL.... It'll be solved by month's end.

"Quasi" is an ancient "Asian Martial Arts" term meaning: "HUUUUGE Fists of iron"..... I think.

I am indeed favored with good company this evening. JAH appears to be a fine selection. Quasi wonders if JAH's "bicycle" is the same brand that manufactured athletic supporters in his youth...Quasi

I would consider GPI a buy on next pullback. I think it could double from here. Nice find Jiesen. This one gets my vote!!

Back when I was in school we called em jockstraps.... But no "Q" it ain't that "Bicycle". Actually the company your are thinking of is called "Bike Athletic" http://www.bikeathletic.com/History.aspx

Jarden's "Bicycle" is the company that Mfg's the most recognized brand of playing cards in the world.

JAH is one of the most diversified companies I have ever researched and it's a smokin' value to boot.

                      Hi Quasi! Great thread dude!

Had a look at JAH and I don't like it yet; it's in the late stages of a 'b' up on the monthly. If/when it drops for the 'c', that's when I'd be all over it.

                      Jiesen's GPI looks great!

I'll throw a pick at thread participants in a few days.

I like them both and would consider both. I like GPI to buy now and would wait on JAH for the pullback like Spike pointed out. I'll second GPI to buy and put JAH on the close watchlist for a buy consideration on the next consolidation which I think will be soon. I'll post a chart an how I see it later today or this evening.

We are in no hurry to invest , but will if the support for an individual stock warrants it. Negative comments from members can cancel positive one's. Quasi is patient like Mr.Market , but you make the decisions. Reminds me of Thomas Edison and the crew at Menlo Park. .. Quasi

I would like to place FLOW up for consideration. I presently own it from $13.60 and have posted several times on why I like it from a charts standpoint. Also have stated a few fundamental items that I like about the stock. You can read what I have posted on FLOW on my thread or I could go through reposting all of that here on request. The stock is breaking out of a cup and handle base on the daily chart. Although it is a lower volume stock, around 300000 shares traded on average daily, there has been heavy institutional accumulation, over 5.5 million shares accumulated by them, over the past several months. Big change in earnings past two qtrs. over last year and picked up two large multimillion dollar contracts from Airbus recently.
I like it's potential as a longer term holding. Recently buying back warrants issued at the predetermined price set at issuance. I think $20 is definitely within range over the next 3-6 months. Will report earnings again sometime in July. Next qtr. ends sometime in June.
