    Smilies Are M.I.A.

I've noticed lately that a lot of the "smilies" that are supposed to show up when certain "codes" are entered, such as a colon immediately followed by a parenthesis for example, are not displaying on my computer, and instead I get the little box with the red X in it. Has anyone else noticed this?

I've noticed the red x of late but I don't know what it stands for. Can you explain what it is for and why.

OK...OK...Seems like Karel and Richard are keeping this a secret???

Since the forum smiley choices don't work...You can always go to IIC's Super Duper Smiley's...Just copy the code to the left and post 'em:

          http://SuperDuperSmileysByIIC.cjb.net

PS...You'll get one popup...close it by clicking CLOSE in the lower left corner

I lied...those really are not my smileys...I just made up an address and redirected it to the real site.

Bookmark this as the redirected url I made up will eventually disappear into cyberspace:

              Thx...Doug(IIC)

OK, I did a smilie test and they are not working. I have no idea what is going on, because they should be in directory such and such and they are right there. I'll ask Richard if he has an idea. In the meantime: sorry.

                Regards,

There is also another problem...When I write a looooong post I like to copy it before just in case something happens when I click SUBMIT or SUBMIT REPLY...The reason is that sometimes something seems to go wrong and the post does not appear...Apparently you cannot copy a pre-submitted post anymore...Let me try to copy my response before I click SUBMIT REPLY...

                  I'm back...doesn't work...Doug(IIC)

Doug, just compose your replies in Notepad. If I anticipate writing a long post, I now do that as a matter of habit. I've had one too many long, detailed, and carefully wordsmithed posts vanish into the cyber bit bucket upon clicking the submit button. (Incidentally, I don't recall that as having happened to me on this site, but it difinitely has on others that use similar software.)

Karel.... Neither the Bold nor the italics feature is working. Also I can't copy and paste to dissect a "quote" post like I used to. PLUS I tried to double space between lines a few minutes ago and I could not (I can only make one loooooong paragraph now). Not complaining.... just notifying you as to what I'm experiencing.... Thanks!

I found that too Doug.... Here's what I did figured out how to do just now in six easy steps.SsSsSsSs.... (1) open a blank email form or word document. (2) Highlight the text in your (presubmitted) post. (3) drag the highlighted post down to the (blank form) icon at the bottom of your screen. (4) continue to drag onto the form as it pops up (5) let go of your mouse button and the post is there (6) after you spell check it then copy and paste back to the post form on $$MM$$'s forum. I would have listed the steps one under the other but I can't because it want's me to type one Loooooooog paragraph instead.

Hmmm...That's working for me Lye...But I have run into a few other problems...e.g. I post my MoMo list at a number of places every night...This forum is not the first one because I've noticed for a long time that if I copy it here and paste it somewhere else that there are a lot of extra spaces...But now when I post it here from a copy it all runs together and I have to go in and space break...Happened w/ the IIC 100 yesterday too.

Not complaining Karel...But there are a few bugs to work out...Doug(IIC)
