I still remember my dad receiving letters from relatives in the Ukraine back in the day. The Bastards would actually use ink eradicator to censor out parts of my relative's missive.
Any discussion of the economy or about jobs was strictly "Verboten" . My dad or his realtives were never privy to any state secrets, but the paranoid communists always censored what seemed to be just trivial commentary!
A friend of mine had escaped from Cuba on a raft .....he is still very cautious when speaking to his brother via phone conversations, for fear that some comment may be detrimental to his brother's safety.
They actually have block capitans who keep tabs on the populace , and any discussions or meetings relating to overthrow of castro or his henchmen will result in disappearance of the persons involved and stiff prison sentences.
I only hope to GOD that BS does not come to the US!

DON CHERRY of Hockey Night in Canada , was asked on a local live radio talk show, just what he thought about the allegations of torture of suspected terrorists. His reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous applause from the audience.

      HIS STATEMENT:

"If hooking up one raghead terrorist prisoner's testicles to a car battery to get the truth out of the lying little camel shagger will save just one Canadian life, then I have only three things to say:

Red is positive, black is negative, and make sure his nuts are wet.”
It is always aired on some unspecified local talk show, preferably radio, so it just did not happen. It also did not happen in Canada, Australia, or any of the other places it is being told of. It is just a story told to sound tough.

Torture is ineffective. More rapport-based interrogation has been proven to be much more effective, the possible occasional success (claimed, not demonstrated) of torture notwithstanding. To be an enthusiastic supporter of torture and to happily cheer the torturers on is just incomprehensible, unless one considers sadism to be a virtue or at least entertaining. Perhaps it is time to blame the computer games again.

My personal position is that using torture to win from terrorism equals losing to terrorism. It is just no option in a civilization worth the name. I would like to call that being principled and tough, but perhaps it is just my political correctness playing up again.

      Regards,

Karel , Thank you for your honest response ! I do respect all opinions , because that is what makes the world go 'round. My only concern is that freedom of expression may someday be curtailed or shut down.
There has been extreme pressure by organizations such as media matters, move on dot org etc. on conservative radio programs .
Nobody really cares what PBR broadcasts, and it is PUBLICALLY supported by tax dollars. The liberal media stations like CNBC ,CNN are losing viewers because ..... VERY FEW like to watch and listen to their broadcast material.
I do not follow lock stock and barrel either the Republican or Democrat party , I am basically a free thinker and primarily a "pocket book" voter!
Most people do no want the government controlling their lives , but rather ......choose to think for themselves!

          Fixa da truck!

          THE ITALIAN FIRE DEPARTMENT

One night outside a small town in New Jersey a fire started inside the local chemical plant. In the blink of an eye, it exploded into massive flames. The alarm went out to all fire departments for miles around. When thevolunteer fire fighters appeared on the scene, the chemical company president rushed to the fire chief and said, "All our secret formulas are in the vault in the center of the plant. They must be saved. I'll give $50,000 to the fire department that brings them out intact."

But the roaring flames held the firefighters off. Soon more fire departments had to be called in as the situation became desperate. As the firemen arrived, the president shouted out that the offer was now $100,000 to the fire department who could save the company's secret files.

From the distance, a lone siren was heard as another fire truck came

into sight. It was the nearby Italian -American rural township volunteer fire company composed mainly of Italian-American men over the age of 65. To everyone's amazement, that little broken-down fire engine roared right past all the sleek newer engines that were parked outside the plant.

Without even slowing down, it drove straight into the middle of the inferno. Outside, the other firemen watched in amazement and disbelief as the Italian old timers jumped off right in the middle of the fire and fought it back on all sides. It was a performance and effort never seen before. Within a short time, the Italian old timers had extinguished the fire and saved the secret formulas.

The grateful chemical company president announced that for such a superhuman feat he was upping the reward to $200,000, and walked over to thank each of the brave Italian-American fire fighters personally. The local TV news reporter rushed in to capture the event on film, asking their chief,"What are you going to do with all that money?"

Well," said Sabatino Altobelli, the 70-year-old fire chief, "Da firsta tinga We gonna do is fixa da brakes on dat foc*ing truck !"

                Remember lifesavers candy?

The children began to identify the flavors by their color:

                Red.....................Cherry
                Yellow...................Lemon
                Green..................Lime
                Orange ................Orange

Finally the teacher gave them all HONEY lifesavers. None
of the children could identify the taste.

The teacher said, 'I will give you all a clue. It's what your
mother may sometimes call your father.'

One little girl looked up in horror, spit her lifesaver out and yelled, "Oh my God! They're ass-holes!"

The teacher had to leave the room!

Maxine tells it like it is!

Nobody can tell it better than Maxine

                    Let me get this straight . . . .

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't,

Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents to administer the plan,

written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it,

signed by a President who smokes,

with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes,

for which we’ll be taxed for four years before any “benefits” take effect,

by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,

all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,

and financed by a country that's broke.

What the hell could possibly go wrong?

I think we should be clear about the meaning of "not politically correct" in current usage. It means: offensive and proud of it. The question seems to suggest that every utterance is done with an eye to giving offense, which is doubtful, to say the least.

I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President of the United States . Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there. So I asked her, "If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?" She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people." Her parents beamed."Wow...what a worthy goal," I told her. "But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my driveway, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house."She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party." Her parents still aren't speaking to me.
