As of 2:50 EST today there were blizzard like conditions in Northern Ohio for a minute or 2. I put on my gloves and finished mowing the yard. Outdoor thermometer reads 43 degrees but it was snowing. My avatar is good for another year. Haven't turned the heat on yet in the house. Current inside temperature 61.5 and dropping. Was over 70 degrees outside 2 days ago.

My calculations and/or facts may be wrong but if the recently released study saying that 655,000 Iraqi's hace died is correct, that means that a higheer percentage of Iraqi civilians have died than US forces.

        655,000 / 26 mil(iraq's population) = 2.52 %

Here's where my numbers are really rough
I know more than 1 million US soldiers have cycled through Iraq
I know that exactly 2,755 soldiers have died.
        2,755/ 1 mil = 0.276 %

                Got a little time?

Here are some fun spelling tests...I took Spelling Quiz # 1...The average person gets 37 right...I was a bit disappointed...I got 41 out of 50.

I took Spelling Quiz #2 and got 46 out of 50...Average is 38 so I felt a little bit better

                On Quiz # 3 I got 44 out of 50...average is 40.

                I was really trying to ace this one...On Quiz # 4 I got 48 out of 50...avg. is 39.

                On Quiz # 5 I got 44 out of 50...avg is 39.

                Overall I got 223 out of 250 or 89.2%...Guess that's a B+...Average is 193 or 77.2%.

Take the tests and report back...No cheating...Doug

                      took quiz 1:

You spelled 5 out of 50 words incorrectly:
judgment (you chose: judgement) - 74.86% of users also got this wrong

coliseum (you chose: colliseum) - 65.13% of users also got this wrong

perseverance (you chose: perseverence) - 40.20% of users also got this wrong

septuagenarian (you chose: septagenarian) - 63.88% of users also got this wrong

liaison (you chose: liason) - 54.49% of users also got this wrong

disappointed that i missed judgment and coliseum, perseverance
was a tossup, but really didnt know how to spell the last two... feeling pretty dumb now. great find, doug!

edit: had to fix the spelling on coliseum - doh!

How I scored on the spelling quiz:

                        Quiz 1: 43/50
                        Quiz 2: 46/50
                        Quiz 3: 46/50
                        Quiz 4: 46/50
                        Quiz 5: 44/50
                        -------------
                        Total: 225/250 = 90%

It was harder than I thought it would be.

By the way, as I recall having looked up the spelling of judgment vs. judgement in the past, I'm pretty sure the dictionary I used said either was acceptable, and that was one of the ones I allegedly missed.

                          Rob,
Judgement is archaic. That is why the dictionary you used said it was "okay" to spell it either way. They used to spell it that way in 1611.

                              took quiz 2:

You spelled 5 out of 50 words incorrectly:
anoint (you chose: annoint) - 61.99% of users also got this wrong

inoculate (you chose: innoculate) - 69.16% of users also got this wrong

battalion (you chose: batallion) - 54.34% of users also got this wrong

atheist (you chose: athiest) - 42.35% of users also got this wrong

dumbbell (you chose: dumbell) - 51.91% of users also got this wrong

seems I have trouble with the double letters... and atheism. no idea how i missed that one though! i am a dumbell.

You realize, Jiesen, that you're giving away the answers to any who might yet take the quiz.
