Most people remember Jerry Butler singing "For Your Precious Love"
but here is a version by blues great Oscar Toney, Jr that is terrific.
    Listen to the violins!

Wonderful music - Mimo & Peter Thank you!

In such troubled times, it's so reassuring to look back and listen to music of the past when we were younger and more innocent. Thank you both for your selections and thoughtfulness.

P.S. Had the opportunity recently to buy a beautiful print titled "Zen Bear" from a local artist. It's a totally zoned-out polar bear floating way above the snowy ground against a blue/blue black sky filled with stars of all brightnesses. He seems completely at peace with himself and the world and meditating on the infinite universe.

          Ah...

            Pete,
Thanks, one of my favorites of all time. Trivia question: The music is from what classical composer? The last week of Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, he had Gary Brooker of Procul Harem playing Whiter Shade of Pale on organ and he sounded exactly like he did many years earlier.

I guess he played the piano. They hid the organ player as I remember

"Sleepers Awake" by J.S Bach? That's what I've always heard.

Most believe it was Bach, however I took a college class with a girl who analyzed popular songs of the 60's and early 70's and played the corresponding classical version. It was almost identical but now I can't remember it was something like Schumann or Schubert anybody out there with classical music knowledge? It's hell getting old.

                        Webs,
I like Angus Young's guitar playing especially when he wears the backpack and little cap. His older brother George was famous in his own rite as guitar player for the Easybeats in the 1960's. I'd post a link to their "Friday on my Mind" song on youtube if I could remember how to do it.

                          Is it Bach?

This person seems to think that it is a combination reminiscent of two Bach works but a brand new composition, just the same.

                            River,
When I read of the "Baroque Styled" music it reminded me of The Amazing Blondel who actually were an opening act for Procol Harem at times. They are classified as Renaissance musicians and sometimes played up to 40 different instruments at a concert. You'll either love 'em or hate 'em. You can here them on youtube playing "Fantasia Lindum" or more singing and fewer instruments in "Cantus Firmus to Counterpoint". A great sound from 3 guys.

I also liked Poco...Have albums from the past but no record player to play them on....In the 70's I really liked Neil Young...also have some of the older Buffalo Springfield stuff...And Rod Stewart circa early '70's...Maggie May is one of my all time Fave songs...Because it reminds me of my first real love...However, I'm glad she dumped me...Doug
