Wasn't there a second word that was usually coupled with twixt. I thought it was "tween". Where the sentence might go, "it was nor twixt or tween". I don't know why I am flashin on this phrase. Anyone else ever heard this phrase?

I alway's heard that somewhere between the "Twixt" and the "Tween".... is the "Tain't"....

Actually I wasn't going in that direction this time Lou. I was thinking along the lines of when something is tainted, discolored, or ruined to some degree, perhaps a little off color.

Yeh, I guess there's no apostrophe in the one I had in mind. With the apostrophe the meaning is more likely along the lines of that ain't or something.

Actually you just used it, albeit in an understandable context.

I keep toying with the idea of buying some calls on some oil stocks. The idea being that oil and especially gasoline prices have been brought down artificially by the oil companies ahead of the election to help the Republicans and will go sprinting back up soon as the ballots are counted. But I keep holding off because the premiums continue to be, well, icky.

You may very well be right. But. If you are, I mean when do they leave for Guatemala? Isn't every day they stay in this country leading them closer to the slammer? If they are out and out lying why hang around and wait to be found out?
