I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Congratulations to NBB and runner-up River for outstanding scores, and to IIC and Jiesen for picking green longs!
After a 30% drop I would be stupid to leave QMAR, so: Long QMAR!!
And I wouldn't particularly like a -7% stop loss rule, as it goes directly against my style. But it stops at "not liking" it, although if someone is going to reverse the rule in the near future, perhaps you two should discuss it a bit more.

I hope all this is happening with the best of intentions, but still: this isn't something to use a public forum for. Please cease and/or desist, everyone concerned or ready to concern him/herself.
Thank you,
Karel

I thought it would be a good idea to try for a week or so and I did put it up for discussion for all the active participants to offer their opinions. If the majority of the players don't have a problem with trying it for a week or two to see how it fits then I don't see a problem with it. Especially if your any of your picks were to get stopped out you could enter another selection immediately. It would seem to me to hold the line on the years end results and certainly would have prevented a number of large minus results such as last week. But in all fairness I am looking for a postive concensus from the players before we change anything.

The rule changes are fine with me. It'll make the game even more interesting.
Besides, we might need a stop loss for tomorrow morning....
Hi Ski, the 7% loss rule is a great idea. But, please make it clear whether or not you mean a loss of 7% at the CLOSE or an intra-day 7% loss. Spike's is an intraday -4% and it is a great way to wake people up with a shock of cold water! River

I was thinking intraday River. 7 would be my normal stop loss from entry. Some people think it is to deep but it has always been right for me. I very seldom let is go farther than that. I just thought it would provide a different twist on the game ya know. So happy to see that things are getting back to normal for you. I've been upside down and I know how confusing it can be. Jiesen is going to take the over the scorekeeping in February for the month. Maybe next week we could try it or maybe in the beginning of March after Jiesen's tour of duty is over.
There is no CA$H anymore Billyjoe. You have the first day penalty free as long as you place a pick before the close on Monday. After the close it is a 1% penalty each day there is no pick.
Ski the dart Is not working very well for me I'm as bad as the market, sure glad this Is not my money portfolio. So my pick Is CTXS-LONG hope we all have a great week
Not a bad pick...If you are interested please look at my 1 min day trading QID charts I posted yesterday for the past 2 weeks CLICK HERE
In the past 2 weeks I have Day Traded QID 10x and QLD 4x
Best...Doug(IIC)
Thanks, been watching those charts unfold with great glee! My co-workers having to put up with my occasional shouts of "Cha-Ching Cha-Ching!" lol
Was day trading QID and DXD for a little bit, but then decided to just hold so as not to miss out on big moves. I'm 'all' in, and up over 20% in last 3 weeks so very happy.
Not brave enough to play with QLD yet.
Global markets getting hammered. Futures are looking very good for shorts tomorrow. Should be a very interesting day/week.
Glad to see you onboard Funnymoney. Do yourself a favor and read the rules on the 1st page of this thread please. It will definitely be advantageous to you to know the rules regarding time of entry and how many trades a week you can make. Tell you friends about this forum. You could do alot worse where you spend your time and energy. Just to let you know a pertinent fact before you get started. Any first timers that win in their first week of play we usually kill them. So have fun and enjoy.
Looked at the rules. Don't worry, not in it to win any weeks. But would love to win the year!
