His skis hot waxed and and as smooth as can be he glides into 1st place breaking out on the move up out of the handle formation. He's in LOV with the fit and the taste of the top spot. Very satisfied with his performance today Skiracer savors the juices of taking the top spot for the first time this year. It tastes so good. But he knows that the race is far from over and as he waits for the finish of those starting behind him he sees Ray Long and the ICE Man right on his tips both less than a percentage point behind. Ray Long is SMOKING with POT and Skiracer pauses just a moment to ingest the sweet fragrances. It's the BUD alright but the Budweiser and not the Juan. The ICE MAN flows into the 3rd spot. As cold as ICE and twice as nice he's hardened to the race and the pressure. Ray Long doesn't know pressure as he uncaps another cold one. He's trying to remember how many this makes it today. They will both be hard to stay in front of tomorrow. Sitting in 4th the Huge One is feeling much better about his state of affairs and is BOOMING with exhuberance at finally being in the green. Could his fortunes be finally turning up? The second heat coming up tomorrow. As he steps out of the chalet Skiracer hears the machines grooming the slopes and knows that they will be ready for tomorrows run. He'll wax in the morning. Tonight is made for LOV and apres ski.
And the scorecard please: which reminds me that I will be away skiing at Hunter Mtn. Friday and most likely Saturday and if it is snowing Sunday also, so that may affect the posting of the final results on Friday, Saturday or maybe even Sunday.

and here I thought I was getting better with these numbers. sorry spike, apparently I got a little confused with your numbers. you're right it should be 3.20 for an entry at 10:27 am and 3.13 for a closing price. that makes a difference in you score. I'll try to beat you anyway i can though. I'll try to make the adjustments this morning but if not this morning then certainly after todays close I'll straighten it out. sorry. btw that should adjust to a +2.2% and 5th place.

revised scorecard with adjustment to Spike's numbers. he came in right behind ernie, also resistance, so I didn't have to change any of the commentary and strong stock on top of him. although now we have to contend with another contender nipping at the top spots.

How can you fight faith so strong that it wills itself into the top spot with a short pick in a market up 133.40 on the day. A stock moving down on a day the markets are moving up over 133 points and with the conviction and the belief in itself that I CAN DO IT. And it does moving into 1st place, NewBorn of the Knobby Knee Congregation, shows what prayer can do for you if you believe. He's up 8% for the week and can feel and smell Ray's breathe coming up real close behind him. Ray Long of the, Tip Em High & Often Club, continues his momentum from yesterday with a remarkable gain of 5.20 points today and takes the 2nd slot with POT up 7.3% for the week. Nitro and alcohol are fueling this baby like the rocket it has been over the last two days. Capn Spike brings her about into the wind and tacks off the leeward side of NewBorn and Ray Long to put himself and DSUP, another short play in an up market today, off their wind trying to take some of the it out of their sails. At 4.69% he's just off both of their bows coming into the mid point. The "Huge One" freshly shaven and oiled maintains 4th place and wonders what a body has to do to move up in this game. BOOM, up over 2.5 points this week, is just off the pace at 4.45% and very much in contention. Skiracer, feeling so good after yesterday's top finish cannot contain himself and parties all night passing out in a drunken stupor and waking up under a table. It all seems like a dream and he is lucky to finish in the green and still in the mix with a positive finish and up 2.61%. All he can remember is Ray Long giving him that last beer.
Mid-week and with three days left the field is bunching up and it is still anyone's race. One of the most dangerous closers, the internationally known "ICE MAN" is laying back in the 6th spot just waiting for an opening. His passion is grabbing victory at the last moment leaving them wondering who was that guy and what hit me. There were reports of two sightings this week. One of Louetta on a rather large sailboat somewhere off the coast of Malaysia wearing dark sunglasses and no sunlines. Reportedly very aloof and not wanting to be recognized but the shoulders gave her away as reported in "the National Enquirer". Inquiring minds want to know ya know. The second of RiverBabe pretty in pink and with a smile so wide it would make your jaws hurt. Also very aloof and who knows what she's thinking of behind that smile. There are only a few things that will bring out a smile that big and it would have to be a biggy. Here's hoping she returns from her "sabbatical" a new woman or at least the old "RiverBabe": the scorecard please:

I can't post up a new scorecard with the changes because I emailed myself the capture rather than the excel spreadsheet template. cannot make that kind of change to the capture, I don't think. NewBorn's true gain is 3.09 (entry) - 3.01 (tues close) = .08 gain /3.09 = 2.59 %. That puts NB in 5th place instead of 1st. 2nd place thru 5th place all move up a spot. Everything below 5th stays the same. Ray Long is now in first place. Spike moves up to 2nd and ernie to 3rd and ski to 4th. NewBorn to 5th. In his delerium of this mistake and good fortune Ray's head begins to spin from the height of being in the top spot. Could brewskis have anything to do with this light headedness. Everyone below Ray was looking up at a beaming Ray Long and happy with their own good fortune and moving up a spot. Most in that group were thinking that NewBorn didn't deserve first place anyway. Just when everything was perfect again Ray felt the first heave from deep down inside. It was almost imperceptible at first but Ray knew the feeling from many other times as most of us do. To many brewskis with ski the night before and he made ski pass out under the table, as if he had to, and all the excitement. Boy oh boy was his head spinning. and here it comes. no one below, all reaching up and out to congratulate Ray, knew what was in store for them in the next moment or two. as Ray leaned out and over extending to his fullest: what will Ray do and what will the others do? a sour situation? perhaps but maybe not: to be continued after time for imagination to replenish.

it's all rays fault. the only thing wrong with my eyes is that they are 63 years old and my mind is still 16 to 21.
i try to do as much as i can with the excel spreadsheet and using formulas. sometimes when i think i have an entire column or row in sinc one or two blocks won't have the formula in them for some reason or another. i check it out manually very quickly but i apparently missed this one. it won't be the last for sure.
