    NewBorn,
I cannot believe that you covered it at this point this afternoon. I just posted over at stockcharts that I was going to short C if it breached 26 and I did short it at 25.97. I've always felt it would follow the market and it looks to be heading farther down today.
An interesting situation has developed with Spike's play. It has fallen below the $2.00 min. price rule. I never thought of that happening but it is definitely a possiblility and now a reality. shorting something that is near the min. allowable price will certainly bring this up again. well one thing for sure is that you most likely will not be catching him one way or another now but you may have had a chance and an arguement regarding the ruling if it were that close. not being sarcastic but i do hope the bottom falls out on C now that I am in the short play.

      Ski and Doug,
Speaking of hated stocks, our old friend HSOA is at .66 today, up 29.41%. A bunch of crooks and con-men.

If I remember correctly Billyjoe was the one who brought it from that site that exposes stock cheats and you made the accompanying statement that you had info from your connections that said it would be bankrupt within the year and worthless. You pretty much hit it on the head I guess. I haven't followed it in a long time and don't know what has happened to it. The last time I remember anything about it Louetta was playing it in a trade or options.

Geez...you make it sound like I had Insider Info...I didn't...I simply have some friends that read a lot who sent me public links to articles that are available to anyone...The stuff I read made sense. To be honest I'm surprised they are still in business.

Speaking of HSOA...Here is a recent article by one of their subsidiary CEO's...Perhaps he is just trying to keep himself out of jail...Or maybe he really was a good guy who couldn't straighten things out???

                Doug,
I'd think the guy's got to be a moron if he wasn't suspicious a long time ago. Does this mean they won't get to finish rebuilding New Orleans? Here's my chance to head down there with a station wagon load of blue tarps. They tell me FEMA's tarps are disintegrating after 3 years. The business district is supposedly fixed up quite nicely but they forgot that the servant workers have to live somewhere other than under bridges and doubling their already rip off rents didn't go over very well.

an interesting situation has arisen in the scoring of the POTW this week. The rule for min. prices of any pick is $2 and I meant it as such that if a stock starts out above 2 and during the course of the week it falls below the 2 min. price then the pick is stopped out and the player has the choice of making another pick that day.
Spike's short with ORS started out at 2.22 and his prayers, I don't think dastardly pirates pray anyway, were answered and it fell but to far and fell below the min. price level of 2. I was somewhat perplexed because how do it judge the play under the circumstances that developed today with NewBorn and Spikes plays. NewBorn exits C at 26.03 and his gain for the week is 9.14 before the penalty of -1% for not making his selection until Tuesday. With the penalty taken off his score becomes 8.14%. Spikes score if taken at what ORS closed at today, 2.10, was 5.4% which would have made NewBorn the winner. But his stock broke below 2 before the close and my interpretation of the rules are that once the stock breached 2 it was stopped out because it was outside of the min. allowable price for entry or participation in the game. So being stopped out at 2 makes Spike's close today at 2.00 and his percentage at 9.91%.
It has brought up an interesting situation and certainly can happen again if anyone were to short a stock in the 2 to 3 or 4 dollar range and then have the trade go the right way and fall below 2 as Spike's did today. So once any eligible stock over 2 falls below 2 it is automatically stopped out as was Spike's play with ORS today and the gain or loss is computed from the closing price of 2.
I feel this is fair and equitable to both parties and will set the rule if it were to happen again in the future.

Capn Spike could feel the NewBorn one's icy breathe on the back of his neck. Christians always made the hairs back there stand on end. Maybe it was because of the many of them he had made walk his plank having robbed their purses and had his way with their women before shoving them off into the dark oblivion of 2nd and 3rd places. 1st is 1st and in no way does 2nd do it for him. just one more time of sticking to his scheme and it coming thru for him. The NewBorn one, no slouch to devising winning strategies but short on maintaining his belief in the plan, prayed all night for C to fall down and cry out,"I've fallen and I can't get up", has his prayers answered and the knobby and calloused bloody knees to prove it, but in the end, at the finish, with all the booty and glory of the win, all the blood, sweat, and tears spent, everything on the line, brings his ship about and loses his wind and his purpose and the the crafty Capn Spike in one fell swoop. He of unsurpassed faith lets the sails luft slack and falls just short with his short. Skiracer was up all night drinking, smoking, womanizing, and partaking of everything he could ingest of life until the last minute and then waxes his skis and gets ready for the final days run only to come up a tad short. He doesn't mind losing as long as he had fun doing it and afterall these are formidable opponents. At least he didn't fall or spill his guts out today. Ernie "boom boom" barsenian, the largest and hairest man on earth has the last laugh with BOOM coming out of the twilight and into the sunlight for the first time in a long time and comes in a somewhat distant 4th but in the green. There is a long list of red trailing off behind him into the distant horizon. Another week gone by and in the can. They'll be dancin the jig and spillin the rum deep into the night in Tortuga Bay when that group of Capn Spike's cutthroats hit shore tonight. Any landlubbers had better stay away. The coming weeks windows are now open for all you early turds or was that supposed to be burds. One other thing. Louetta please come home. We miss you. And the scorecard please:

FWIW...I'd change the rule to read that a stock has to be at $2.00 or above only when it is picked

I think I'll leave it as I did on Friday. If anyone picks a short play or a long play and it is close to the minimum price they just put themselves at risk of losing out on maxing out on the pick if it crosses below the min. price level at any time. Their out and they get another pick or not.
Which leads me to another thought. If you make a play on Monday before the close and you exit or get stopped out for whatever reasons you do not have to make another play that week and face no penalties for the rest of the week. OK? Thanks for playing everyone and hopefully we'll see more green this coming week.
