Hey All,
(I like the new name you're giving it- easier on the keys)
Thanks for the warm welcome and commendation….I’ll try my best to make it interesting…
As ski mentioned, I am a newcomer here, and a pretty quiet one at that….I’m learning the ropes as I go and gaining some great insight from the members here…namely those involved in POTW….I always held an interest in buying and selling stocks, etc., but I really didn’t have the time for due diligence and feared for my uneducated outcome. Now that my kids are out of the nest, my interest is renewed, with time now to learn…
I’ll take a read thru the previous rules and post the rules for the new game….You may notice, from my posted results of last weeks game, that I would play a position with a stop gain and if that gain was realized via any days high I was rewarded that gain and allowed to select another position with another stop gain….I didn’t worry about a stop loss since it was only a game….I also set a minimum stop gain of at least 5%, considering that if I was actually to buy the stock I’d have to cover the brokerage fees involved, and knowing me, the fees wouldn’t be incidental due to a huge volume purchase….
I also imposed that the stop gain wasn’t adjustable, so if I started a position with a 10% stop gain, I had to play that position until the 10% was achieved before I could move on to a new position. This may make it more involved then previously, but it seems to keep me in touch with the market on a daily basis….which I like…..I’d like to try it with the POTW game and see how everyone likes it…. but if your set on making only one pick a week, then I would take your pick without any stop gain and let it ride all week as you all did last week….I’d like to go with the picks in by close of market on Monday and the game concluding at close of market on Friday…..
Any other recommendations are warmly welcome….I’d like to thank Mr. M and the members here for the great place to read, and someday contribute to, the unbiased opinions I’ve found here….

FEED - long please Hags. i would place a 7% stop on it if that is a rule and ok to do so along with there being another pick available if stopped out. if no 2nd pick then no stop for me. no stop gains for me please.

Hags...Just to clarify...If I make a pick now I don't know the price...I assume if I do that I get the Monday open rather than the Monday close since I can't post the r/t price."Trade What Is Happening...Not What You Think Is Gonna Happen"

If you want to let your pick ride all week then just the pick and position is needed.

For example.....My pick for next week is:
CPRT Long w/ Stop Gain of 7%
So opening price on Monday is my buy price and if or when CPRT gains more then 7% of Monday's open I get the option to close CPRT, take my profit (gain) and make a new selection for position 2, or I can let CPRT ride till the end of the week....
