IIC, I was just wondering about something. How well would you think the average investor did this year, percentage wise? I know that's a highly speculative question, but I'm trying to figure out how well I have performed this year compare to Joe Shmo next door. I guess I tend to be very competitive.

Let's see, the SP500 was about +7%. The DJIA about +3%, the Naz Comp about +5%...My guess is that the avg. investor lost money in 2004. The informed investor made 20-30%, the Sharp Investor made 30-80%, the Lucky Investor made 80-150% and the Sharp Investor who is also Lucky
made 150%+.

The problem was volatility...And many people I know sort of dropped out near the bottom...Anyway, I think that anyone who made over 30% this year did a nice job....it was a tough year...IIC
