I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. I also note now it's acting very very very bullish on daily, weekly and monthly bollinger bands. And if it can close this quarterly candle over the recent highs, that'll be acting very bullish on a quarterly bollinger band chart too! Wow, that would infer to me highs over 44.00 in the next 3 years, or quicker if/when it starts to really get madly impulsive, which it hasn't really done during this meander up. I suspect the move from Oct '03 to now has been very well manipulated/controlled. Look at the volume will ya. There's some big money almost wanting in before the 25.00 resistance. The handle from July 04 never really led to impulses, which I find surprizing...it kinda stalled out early last year and did the ascending thing...
Anyway, some speculation in there for ya...Now what would change my bias is if it pops to new highs and sells quick and forms a high volume down weekly candle or something like that, or loses that gap support at 20.78......that would be whispering very worriesome uncertainty, and I'd be flippin to neutral in a heartbeat.
Good luck. I know your target isn't far off and I'm kinda wondering if it ain't worth retargeting if new highs from here is convincing.
Second of all...Yes...Mysterious...Who the heck are you?...You could make your GRAND ENTRANCE at the Mr. M Convention!!!
Third of all...WITS...Back to support...No problem...I've believed in this outfit for 2 years....(Call Center Magazine is Never Wrong...LOL)...Great mention in Barron's a few weeks ago...then a downgrade...It all evens out...I only bot 2x...April and June '04...Avg. 14.49...Loaded up in my wife's IRA on the first buy...But I never told her about the drop to 9.64 (I don't even have to look it up) back in July '04...Actually, I did tell her about it much later after it got up over 15...But to be honest...I shoulda bailed much earlier...Especially because we are pretty heavy in it...I always coulda bot it back...It was a risk that I should not have taken in retrospect...But I've owned some great companies over the years...Sold MIDD in the 25.90's...Sold HANS at 25...Sold MSFT for the last time(except DT's) in 1989...There are too many to mention...But it just goes to prove the old adage "Ya wanna get rich?...Just buy what IIC sells"...Let's see if it happens w/ WITS too...Best, Doug
"Trade What Is Happening...Not What You Think Is Gonna Happen"
I'm one of the Beta Testers for some potential new products that Nasdaq is testing...So far I have not found them of much use...But here is a list of the ones they say had the highest(Top 20) Buying % Rating Volume-wise(NAZ 100 Only) of the Pathfinders(Block or Large Traders) during the last hour of trading today:
NASDAQ's Market Pathfinders indicates the primary side taken (buying vs. selling) by certain market participants that we call "Market Pathfinders". Market Pathfinders are market participants that appear to be calling the direction of the market by predominantly buying (in the expectation of a price increase) or selling (in the expectation of a price decrease) a large number of shares. The goal is to indicate the market expectations of such market participants. The information is calculated every 5 minutes and includes all trades in the NASDAQ Market Center
What are "Pathfinders"?
Market Pathfinders are market participants that appear to be taking a position in a stock over a period of time. We define a Pathfinder as any market participant with at least 75% of their traded share volume in a stock on one side of the market (buying vs. selling). For example, a participant identified as a buying Market Pathfinder in a stock would be one that over a period had a buying to selling ratio of more than 3:1 (three shares bought for every one share sold in that stock). A selling Market Pathfinder would have a buy/sell ratio of 1:3.
What market participants are not considered Market Pathfinders?
A neutral market participant would be one that had a ratio nearer to 1:1 (nearer to 50% buying, 50% selling), which indicates that over the period they were trying to maintain a flat position (avoiding going long or short in a stock).
Is there any way to find out the identities of the Market Pathfinders?
No, NASDAQ does not identify the Market Pathfinders. Nor does NASDAQ reveal how many Pathfinders were identified over a given time period. We only indicate whether these market participants were predominantly buying or selling.
What is the difference between the 3 time periods provided?
We find the Pathfinders over 3 time periods: the past 5 minutes, the past 1 hour, and the past 2 hours. The longer time periods are likely to be more reliable because market participants have had more time to choose their position (long, short, or neutral).
How are the Market Pathfinder Indicators calculated?
First we identify the Market Pathfinders for the chosen period. Pathfinders are market participants with at least 75% of their traded volume in a stock on one side of the market (buying vs. selling). Second, we count the number of pathfinders buying and the number of pathfinders selling and report the percentage buying this indicates whether Market Pathfinders in that stock over that period were predominantly buyers or sellers. Third we calculate the number of shares bought by Pathfinders and the number of shares sold by Pathfinders, and report the percentage bought by Pathfinders this indicates whether Market Pathfinders in that stock over that period were predominantly buying or selling as measured by the number of shares.
What do the heat maps signify?
The heat maps provide a graphical presentation of Pathfinder buying and selling. The greener an issue is, the more the Pathfinders are buying in that issue (or the more shares Pathfinders are buying). The redder an issue is, the more the Pathfinders are selling in that issue. To view the percentage buying, hold your cursor over the box and a tooltip will appear showing the percentage number.
What does the legend at the bottom of the heat map represent?
This represents the range from highest to lowest buying percentage for all issues shown.
Which issues are represented in the heat map?
Our Market Pathfinder heat maps currently cover only NQ100 issues. If no Pathfinders are identified in an issue (i.e. no participant had at least 75% of their traded share volume in a stock on one side of the market), then the issue will not be shown. It is not uncommon to see fewer than 100 issues on our NQ100 heat maps.
"Trade What Is Happening...Not What You Think Is Gonna Happen"
Well...You are right Spike...IMO we finished right at 1st level support today...I was not enthused about the A/D volume though...But the 12 (and the 5) A/D Issues could indicate a little reversal here???
BTW...What is the difference on I-Shack between Hotlink For Forums (1) and Hotlink For Forums (2)???...
Been sorta nice this week because I decided no buys after Monday...It's given me a chance to sorta refresh and look at a lot of stuff with no pressure, especially when I did not really like the looks of the market last weekend... Thx...Doug
