Doug,
I've got a stock I want to dump as soon as possible while still getting the final dividend which will be paid to shareholders of record on the 28th (Fri.). Was thinking about waiting until about 30 minutes before close on Friday. Do you think there's a risk I might still lose the div. ? Thanks.

As far as I know you must own it at the close on Friday if that is the day of record. This site confirms my thoughts...although I have no idea who they are: http://www.dividendtrader.net/stocks/dividends.html

However, I recommend that you call your broker to find out...Doug

I had to leave early and missed the rest of the market day...Sold NPSP on news for +12.2%...Although I see that if I had held to the close I'd be up over 20%...But I got more than I had planned on getting...so no complaints...Still have a larger hold from last week... FRM.....Doug(IIC)

In looking over your IIC100 list for ideas to use for under $10 stocks month of Oct. I was surprised you didn't pick PTT for my $10-$15 contest. Newborn will probably take it (just kidding, PTT specializes in adult entertainment). Then my surprise turned to shock as I saw the price and chart on DAR. That's my pick in the contest. Thanks, hope it doesn't open over $9.99 tomorrow. Of all my sources, DAR showed up only on IBD and IIC100 lists.
