TC:Originally posted by Deaddog View PostTC is one of the few fundamental plays I have invested in.
Here is how I plan to trade the stock.
I will start with about 40% of what I would consider my full position.
IE; if my full position is 5000 shares I will buy 2000.
I am looking for a 20% return so I will place a sell order for 1000 shares 20% above entry price for ½ or 1000 shares.
At the same time I will place an order to buy another 20% or 1000 shares approximately 10% below my initial entry.
Once either a buy or sell order is triggered I repeat the process.
So as it stands right now I bought 40% of my position at 3.82 and place an order to sell @ 4.60 and an order to buy 20% more @ 3.42
The buy order was triggered so I now have a 60% position with orders to buy and sell 20% of a full position @ 3.02 and 4.20 plus the original sell order @ 4.60
If TC continues to fall in price I will buy 2 more chunks at 3.02 and 2.62; after that I will have to reassess if my opinion was correct.
What’s at risk? If TC goes to zero I will have lost 20% of my account.
Finally got my first sell order filled @ 3.28 for the portion bought @ 2.62
Gain of 25% or 0.82% of capital.
Now have a couple of standing orders in place.
A buy order @ 2.85 and a sell order for another portion @ 3.75

FOSL: Sold @ 86.93
Gain of 3.59% or 0.75% of Capital
Had moved stop up.
I look at the risk reward ratio again once price gets close to my target.
With FOSL I was risking $1.50 to make $4.00. Once the price gets within 50 cents of my target and I don’t move the stop I’m now risking $ 5.00 to make 50 cents.
I will usually move my stop to breakeven once price has reached above the initial risk point and place a trailing stop from there on up.
AN: is on a short leash for a couple reasons. One is I have held it too long. The other is that I have my 1 to 3 Risk Reward target and am looking for a little more. Greed will get you every time.

A quick summary of the trades for the last 2 months.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
20 trades:
9 Losses; 45%
8 Wins; 40%
3 Break even; 15%
The BMY Trade made the big difference. It bought the reward to risk ratio down to 1.2
Still managed to end up profitable and preserve my capital.
Gotta work on keeping the losses small.
