River, are you still subscribing to Zachs?
I was thinking of trying the 30 day trial offer for $1 and hoping you can share your thoughts.

Zacks has been very helpful and they gave me a humongous/irresistable discount on a "lifetime" membership that I decided to take. They have a large selection of portfolios of all trading/investment persuasions (I pick and choose between their individual stock recommendations). The stocks/market research is comprehensive, like MrM's. Good ideas. They are not always right, but cut losses right away. Get emails out the kazoo every day but don't mind it. The only thing I don't like is I'm always competing for price at the same time as the rest of the herd, but I put in limit orders and use patience. They eventually come to mamma although a few have gotten away. Try the trial, it's fun.

P.S. When you look at their charts, be sure to check out the Price/consensus and Price/earnings surprise charts (left side menu). They are important to me.

VERY helpful feedback, thank you! I am an early subscriber to gorrillatrades and they have been good to me in respect to subscribing (including some extended subscription time for providing feedback when they redid their website) and I know exactly what you mean by trying to beat the herd, looking for a pullback, etc. When I get back from a vacation in April I will have time to focus better and give Zacks a trial for sure. Thanks again; -Adam

River, What are your thoughts on MYL after today's strangeness? Time to sell, time to buy, wait for merger, wait for buyout? Forget Perrigo, accept TEVA ? What's an investor to do?

Re. TEVA, CNBC says it's going to be a long drawn-out process because MYL has a poison pill. I have a limit order in AH for >30%. Actually CNBC sees some "back & fill" but it's still a buy after that. Bid @ 74.22, my ask @ 74.29. Oops, just sold.

From SA this morning: "Some of the top investors at Mylan, including hedge fund Paulson & Co, are encouraging its board of directors to consider a takeover proposal from Teva Pharmaceutical (NYSE:TEVA), Reuters reports. Yesterday, Teva unveiled an unsolicited $40B takeover proposal for the Pennsylvania-based company, saying the acquisition would create an entity with more than $30B in annual revenue, add to earnings in the first year and generate $2B in annual savings. Meanwhile, Perrigo (NYSE:PRGO) has rejected Mylan's (NASDAQ:MYL) unsolicited $205/share offer stating that it substantially undervalues the company."

I'm considering bidding low at the open today, to maybe eke out a few more $$.

Hi River et al, maybe this is replacing the tech forum so will ask opinion here; any thoughts on BIDU? Looks a little like a MM chart. Still considering....

Hi Josh. I see consolidation on daily and weekly. Triple top from Feb. at about 220. Resistance at 200 dma at about 218 and 200 dma on both charts. Zacks rank 4 (sell). Most recent earnings was a miss. Earnings 4/29. Your guess is as good as mine. Not currently on my watch list. Minus news, today's rise might be in response to recent tech earnings reports.

Barb, I wondered if you have experience with Zack's Research Wizard. I've been given a two-week trial. I'm not usually big on running scans but they do seem to have data on earnings, changes and estimates that others don't have.

Would like to know any thoughts you may have.

First, please understand that these thoughts are from someone whose eyes glaze over at the word "fundamentals." I tried that free trial and, after trying to figure out how to use it for a full day and ending up with a headache, decided to revert to the KISS principle. I play to my strengths, technical and behavioral analyses. Besides, I think it costs extra over the "Ultimate" sub. I'm happy to rely on a pro's fundy analysis (like the Huge One's and Zack's). From monthly Z's webinars, I have learned how to use the valuable info and charts they provide to the greatest advantage. The Research Wizard might be great for you, just not for me. Let me know how you do with it. I'm interested.

River, I thought the "Wizard" only stumped me. Well, I'm in good company !

Thanks. So far all their Wizard communications have been uncluttered by any cost information.

People I know are into the COLL IPO. They have been backing the company privately for some period of time.
