    Goals for 2013

I keep busy trying to meet several goals each year. The problem is I'm increasing the number of goals each year. Maybe my goal should be to limit the number of goals this year .

    Here are some 2012-swim 150 miles--result 163.601 miles
    -----------------------recycle 5000 cans--only hit 4332

    -----------------------find 700 silver dimes, 300 halfs--718 dimes, 314 halfs

-----------------------find $100 walking dog & metal detector-$102.73 found

----------------------beat last years raspberry total--did it 59.95 quarts

----------------------sell $300 of excess tomatoes---sold $311.44 at self serve stand

---------------------save copper cents for granddaughter's education fund--$719 so far

For 2013 the big goal that so far has been unattainable-----lose at least 20 pounds.

    2013----beat S&P 500 by 5%

Anyone else have goals for the new year?

My goal is to practice (as opposed to just playing) my guitar at least 30 minutes every day.

As for those 20 lbs, I did P90X this year and lost 20 lbs in 3 mos. I couldn't do everything, but just doing what I could worked. I went from 205 to 185.

Jiesen, That's an impressive goal. My son was a cross country runner then worked up from 5K to 10K to half marathons. Then he ran the Columbus marathon in maybe 3:43 and he couldn't raise his legs to get into the car. Took a few days to recover. He said the last 3 miles were torture. Good thing was they had a giant screen at the finish that flashed time and name with live shot of runner. For some reason there was no crowd at that minute so he had the 12 foot screen to himself.

In 2011 we adopted an abused horse (he stayed in the neighbor's barn). We'd like to do that again.

I know that feeling- when I did the Disney half marathon, they took us through Angel stadium and showed the runners on the big screen while we ran through. It was an amazing experience, with the crowd cheering and everything. Good on your son for doing the marathon. Few more years of work and he'll be knocking on 3 hrs, too. Not much to it really, but just putting in the time day after day. My first one was just a few minutes under 4:30.

What I think is impressive is that list of goals that you put together, and actually nailed on nearly every account!

not necessarily in order of importance

                    Loose 15 pounds/improve my health
Learn to play the guitar. (I have 4 and can't play!)
                    Get much better at meditation
work on my soul and my connection to God
make a really nice new friend
                    Make a lot of money

To find something everyday to be thankful for.
To look for the positive in every situation.
                      To learn from my mistakes.

Actually I could probably live very nicely with only 50,000 followers

Jiesen, You don't want to peak too early. Most of my goals end Dec. 31st. How about a 2:45 marathon sometime in Dec.?
