This week's list:
LGIH PGR JOUT ABBV SNE TGT DG WMT NVO LOGI CTXS NTES BABA CHD MSFT YUMC
I'm selling COST when the market opens and buying PGR, TGT, DG and NTES. I like Progressive as an insurance company. They have lots of commercials and marketing for their products. Target has nice stores in middle class areas. Some people prefer Target to Walmart. On the other side is Dollar General which is probably done growing. They are the cheapest store I've seen with products similar to dollar tree and family dollar(previously FDO, the nicest dollar store.) Netease has average quality video games. Maybe the chinese gamer will play some in their free-time. The stock is near a trendline, so I'll buy near the support with a stop loss around 3-5% lower. Still holding ABBV SNE WMT LOGI CTXS V CHD MSFT YUMC. I'm about 50% invested now with my dad. Our market timing service is on a buy signal, so we are buying. My brother is learning technical analysis. He trades Cryptocurrencies like Etherium and Chainlink. The only comment I have on this area is that perhaps Overstock OSTK could go higher on speculation.

Selling DPZ today. Momentum is on the downside, the P/e is high and growth is only average. Couldn't find anything as a replacement

Buying AIA and EEM. China and emerging markets have dropped down some, so I'm taking my chances.

I agree, if we're shutting down in large parts of the country again due to COVID, it's hard to imagine the recovery rally continuing like it has. I'd expect another >20% or so market drop before we actually recover from this. I think we're stuck with COVID for at least another year or so.

DPZ CHD LOGI MSFT V ABBV COST SNE YUMC CTXS WMT. Buying these at the open. My market timing service came with a buy signal today, so I am buying at the open. Sentiment doesn't look bad, though I am a little nervous and skeptical about the market going higher.

Selling all stocks again on the up day. Looking back, I probably bought too late since I wasn't paying attention to the down markets during Corona Virus. Now everything seems back to normal and prices already reflect this. Oh well. Might be selling too early now, too.

This week's list.
Don't like the homebuilders as a group because of their debt and cyclical nature of their business. I'm skeptical on the chinese stocks. ASHR looks good since it's diversified among 300 chinese companies. Maybe some ASHR, NTES for semi-casual online video games, BABA for bulk online retail, and ZTO as "the chinese UPS/Fedex." Trying to stay away from smaller companies like online retailer CNXN and fishing products maker JOUT. The first company I really like is Sony SNE. They are diversified in video games, media, and financial segments. Abbvie ABBV looks good on paper. I don't like supporting companies that make drugs besides not understanding anything about the chemicals themselves. It's supposedly a good company that my friend(a first year oncologist) likes. So, I don't know. It has a 5% dividend and steady earnings. Maybe it looks good. I'll give it until the middle of next week to show some short-term momentum. How can I pick a drug-maker over Sony? Next is Amgen AMGN. Another drugmaker. I don't know how any of their products work. The momentum is failing on this one. Taiwan Semiconductor TSM is apparently a large, important company. I'm not sure what they do. The stock keeps going higher. Dollar General and Wal-Mart fall into a similar category in my mind. The DG stores are very efficient and I see them always busy. Wal-Mart is like a Mall. Give someone $500 and they will likely go spend it all on something they want. It's a good shopping experience for most. Logitech LOGI makes cheap(yet quality) computer hardware product. My mom buys them. I'm getting tired now, so maybe I'll take a break and finish later?
Costco COST is fun. I've bought some items there and the bulk display definitely creates a sense of abundance. They are growing steadily. AAPL GOOGL BABA and MSFT are probably must-haves for large portfolios. BABA and MSFT look the best from an earnings growth standpoint. AAPL and GOOGL earnings look flattened out. As a stock-play, BABA looks a bit overly-hot. MSFT AAPL and GOOGL all have momentum going up. Electronic Arts EA and Take-Two Interactive TTWO make good video games. Their costs are low and their growth is okay. I like EA video games better. Domino's Pizza DPZ makes good pizza and side dishes. Never had a bad experience there. Growth looks nice and steady. ISRG makes cool surgical devices. Their growth looks choppy. Maybe it's better on a longer time frame. 2 years+ instead of 1 year holding time? My uncle is a graphic designer and he tells me about how Adobe ADBE requires users purchase their software again and again. Since it's the best out there, they do it. He's been telling me about it since 2011. The stock is much higher now. It's on my screen with a high P/e and momentum. Their earnings are steadily growing. Amazon.com AMZN has the highest p/e. I finally chose this after years and years because it has momentum. The earnings actually are kind of flat recently. I love their service. Visa V is a nice financial card company. Their earnings are growing. I prefer visa over mastercard.Last edited by antioch6; 07-10-2020, 09:30 PM.
