Bookkeeping for the week ending Friday, August 4.

My portfolio lost a bundle and now is at +8.5% (-4.5% for the week). SPY is at +10.0% (+0.2%) and IWM/Russell 2000 at +3.6% (-1.2%). QQQ lost a bit again but still is on top +17.2% (-0.1%)

There will be no trading in my portfolio until August 15 at the earliest, when MKSI needs to have reached 84.74 to stay in. It has dropped into the red again at 77.25

The news is that one stock made (and exceeded) its 5% target: ANET closed the week at 172.05, new target 180.65. It was a big jump for ANET this week, read: yesterday, but this was more than compensated for by the precipitous dive of AAOI, which went from 96.64 last week to 64.60 this week. Most of the drop occurred on Friday too.

      That’s all.

Karel, bunch of really sharp Dutch chicks in the London World Track and Field Championships which started yesterday. Broersen, Visser and Vetter in the hepthalon and Schippers in the 100 meters (and no doubt later in the 200). Blond hair and nice bods.

Oh yes, I love track and field, and certainly the women’s disciplines, especially the heptathlon. The Dutch contingent is holding their own nicely My taste in female beauty is rather ecumenical, with slender and streamlined always catching my eye, so the runners are in too.

Anouk Vetter gets bronze! And don’t let’s forget Dafne Schippers, bronze on the 100m, after Tori Bowie and Marie-Josée Ta Lou. Wonderful!

She's got a great tan. Nice bum too.

Just saw Visser again in the 100m hurdles.

Schippers looks wonderful. The gold medal will suit her just fine.

Time to get back on topic. Bookkeeping for the week ending Friday, August 11.

My portfolio lost again and is now +7.6% (-0.9% for the week), but the market(s) did worse! SPY is +8.5% (-1.3%), IWM +0.9% (-2.7%) and QQQ is +15.9% (-1.1%)

There will be no trading in my portfolio until after next week, when MKSI needs to have reached 84.74 to stay in. It gained a bit but is still down at 79.45

In a down week there is still a stock that made its 5% target: WLDN closed the week at 34.71, new target 36.45.

                        That’s all.

I really wanted to post this earlier, but I couldn’t, as I had problems with my procedure to pick a new stock. Yes, MKSI has gone, on Thursday, for 79.60, a loss of -1.4% over the buy price in 14 weeks. CAI entered the portfiolio on the same day at a price of 28.61. The portfolio now has 3 closed positions, averaging -3.8% over those, with an average holding period of a bit over 4 months.

The bookkeeping for the week ending Friday 8-25: my portfolio gained a bit and is now +7.9% (+0.3% since 8-11), SPY is now +8.7% (+0.2%), IWM +1.2% (+0.3%) and QQQ is +15.8% (-0.1%)

The stock with the earliest deadline (9-3) is AMAT. It needs to reach 49.14 to stay in. It now is at 43.31, a gain of 21% since it was bought.

No stocks hit their 5% targets these two weeks.

                          That’s all.

BTW, the portfolio drags about 20% cash along. One of the reasons is for easy rebalancing: I sell a stock and put 1/3 of cash in the new position.

The bookkeeping for the week ending Friday 9-1: my portfolio gained quite a bit and is now +10.9% (+2.7% for the week), SPY is now +10.2% (+1.4%), IWM +3.9% (+2.7%) and QQQ is +19.1% (+2.8%)

AMAT reaches the deadline next week. It needs to top 49.14 to stay in. It now is at 45.10, a gain of 26% since it was bought. 49.14 would mean a jump of 9% or so next week.

Two stocks hit their 5% targets this week: FOXF (next target 42) and CAI (next target 32.52)

                              That’s all.

I have been away for a bit. This is what happened in my portfolio. On 9-25 AMAT got sold at 47.77, a gain of 33.5% in just over 7 months. The portfolio now has 4 closed positions, averaging 5.5% over those, with an average holding period of about 5 months. MU entered the portfolio on the same day at 35.45.

The bookkeeping for the week ending Friday 9-29: my portfolio is on a run and stands at +17.3%, beating SPY at +11.7% and IWM at +9.5% (+0.3%). QQQ barely holds the lead at +18.7%

The stock with the earliest deadline (10-21) is AAOI. It needs to reach 101.47 to stay in. It stands at 64.67, a loss of 11% since it was bought.

Several stocks hit their 5% targets in the interval: NVDA (new target 189.12), LRCX (new target 194.29), FOXF (new target 45.26), ANET (new target 200.60) and MU in its first week (new target 41.30)

                                That’s all.
