BTW, just for fun, I ran a mock portfolio in which I purchased (or shorted) approximately $10,000 worth of each pick. We improved on last year’s abysmal showing of -35.02%, but still showed an overall loss of -6.38%. 2021 was our best year since I’ve been keeping tabs when we showed a gain of +6.95%. It was kind of a bland week, but that’s to be expected heading into Christmas. I don’t expect much action during our next and final week either heading into the new year. The leader board remains the same with Louetta’s monster, NVDA, coasting home, HUBS in second, and Mr. Market’s RAVE firmly in third. There’s still a chance we could end up with eight picks in the green. We’re soooo close. Come on, SQ.

2023 PotY Contest Standings As of Market Close, Dec 15

It was a good week for the markets as all three indices broke out to the upside from their consolidation. This floated our picks up, and as a result, we now have seven picks in the green. Woo hoo! As for the leaderboard, things remain the same with our deep space explorer, Louetta’s NVDA, firmly in first followed by HUBS in second and Mr. Market’s RAVE in third. Where do we go from here? The markets look a little extended here to me, and the topping tails at the end of the week hinted at a little exhaustion. I am therefore expecting either some more consolidation or a little pullback from here in the short term. Seeing as it’s the holidays, I don’t expect anything major, unless of course the Wall Street types need to take some profits to pay for last minute Christmas presents. It’s almost over, pickers, so wrap up your holiday shopping and ride the final wave home.
