2024 PotY Contest Standings As of Market Close, July 12

Sorry about missing last week, but let’s catch up shan’t we. It’s been a pretty good two weeks for the market and, all of a sudden, we have a log jam at the top with only 1.10% separating our top two picks. Molly’s ARM continues to cling on to first place followed ever so closely by Mr Market’s CLRPF with 150% gains on both. Yowzah! Holding down third is BillyJoe’s MNKD. The really good news is that there are six more positions in the green for a total of nine. Let’s see how much more oomph this market has in it.

Hello Pickers! It was an interesting and volatile week in the markets. The NASDAQ and S&P took big hits, while the Dow sort of treaded water even though it closed with two big fat red bars. That giant hissing sound you heard was the sound of value leeching out of the market, especially the tech sector. Ouch! So what effect did this have on our picks? Well, we have a new leader! Congratulations Mr. Market. Your CLRPF pick is our new leader. Long time leader Molly’s ARM has dropped into second place, but we still have 5+ months to go, so don’t go counting any prize money yet. BillyJoe’s stalwart pick MNKD remains in third. The big question now is how severe is this correction going to be? Stay tuned.

Greetings Pickers. It was a mixed week with the NASDAQ amd S&P down hard and the Dow up as tech sector fears crept into the market. The net result was no changes in our leaderboard. Mr. Market’s CLRPF widened its lead in 1st place, followed by Molly’s ARM in second and BillyJoe’s MNKD in 3rd. It will be interesting to see what happens from here.

2024 PotY Contest Standings As of Market Close, Aug 9

Well, let me start by saying oops. I missed posting last week. Sorry. So anyway, there has been a lot of action over the last two weeks, and overall, the markets are still down although we finished this week on a hopeful note. All this volatility has had an affect on the standings. Mr. Market’s CLRPF continue to sit a step above everyone else with an astonishing 154% gain. In second previous leader Molly’s ARM is holding on after a precipitous drop. Now the once unreachable stock is within striking distance of our new third place pick, Minni17’s HALO. Welcome to the leaderboard, Minni17. Man, this is gonna get interesting.

2024 PotY Contest Standings As of Market Close, Aug 16

We had a very slight uptick in thev market last week with no real impact on the standings. Mr. Market’s CLRPF continues to hold a commanding lead in 1st. Molly’s ARM remains in 2nd and Minni17’s HALO is in 3rd.

The indices were all hit hard during the recent correction, but they are also showing remarkable strength. The tech sector got hit the hardest, but is still having a pretty resilient rebound so I am hoping for continued upward movement. I have this nagging feeling, however, that the markets are very fragile right now and will react very negatively to any bad news, especially about the economy. So here’s hoping the news remains positive … at least until we can all reap our profits.

Another week, and another strong finish. Didn’t have any effect of the leaderboard, though. Mr. Market’s CLRPF maintains its commanding commanding lead in 1st place. Molly’s ARM is holding on to 2nd with a not too shabby 90% return, and Minni17’s HALO remains in 3rd with its own impressive 83% gain. In another positive milestone, we again have nine positions in the green. We haven’t had that since early in the season. Let’s see if we can keep the positive energy going.

To be fair, both cases are equally probable. One of these days though, an earnings number will be missed... you'll see! Coins don't land on heads every time.
Also, NVDA is not worth $3T, no matter how many chips the world needs. Someone else will eventually figure out how to make a decent GPU for less.

We had a mixed week with the Dow and S&P up marginally and the NASDAQ down, also marginally. There were some changes on the leaderboard, however. Mr. Market’s CLRPF continues to have a death grip on 1st place, but after that we have quite a little contest going on. BillJoe’s MNKD moved into second with an 86.87% return, followed by Molly’s ARM with an 86.71% gain. But hold on! Minni17’s HALO is lingering in 4th with an 86.64% return. Great flaming buckets of expired covered calls! Only .23% separates 2nd from 4th. It’s anybody’s game for those 2nd and 3rd spots. This is getting interesting. Stay tuned.
