Can I get your opinion on these two charts? Just curious on what your take is. Would you call the weekly a double bottom in that cup an on the daily would you call that an ascending triangle? I already own it so I'm in. Thanks.

Hi Tom. DRL; ya, very nice TA setup this one. The kind of action that scares a lot of people, but those spikes are awesome to look for where they are channel shorts for a weak stock, selling INTO the strength at the right time.
Now, it's easy in hindsight, but these are the things to look for. The count can frustrate when you're TRYING to nail it, but the 'C' pivot line is pretty hard to miss, and hard to argue against. If C fails, there's your entry. You can try to anticipate the 5th completion which takes practice, but it's possible; ya just gotta be brave enough to try and be disciplined with stops for the times you're wrong.

Seriously though, I understand many people like to step aside for announcements. Rarely I will too, but most of the time I take a stance prior to an announcement and accept the risk reward those volatile times offer. Sometimes I scalp 'em, sometimes I'll look for more. Depends what my market bias is and the nature of the signals I get.

I really don't think it's wise (me personally anyway) to put my "bias-hunting" for swing trades on hold while I wait for some market announcement. I might miss a big chunk of the move; and MORE importantly is I might miss the PERFECT entry I've been stalking for days.

For me, my leading Vector closed bullish yesterday after I had been bearishly looking for a bit more but I'd closed that short when the signals came, just like gettin' long when the signals came. I'm long-term bullish as per the recent chart patterns of larger ascending triangles and wave counts and if you look at the hourly for the YM, it was pretty much a support play.

Look to the charts; they never lie! I've posted these patterns before, and the last chart is that signal chart I posted in the market thread. P&F targets are all for higher too. Plus NB is a bull I think; he was asking the other day it was about time! hehe
