I do have this concern. As someone who wants everyone here to profit, I do get concerned when I see something that might hurt anyone of us. What I see from time to time is some bragging. I have done it in the past, and God has brought me down low, low, low for it. I mention it because I know just enough of the Bible to know that there is one thing God is at war with: pride. "God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6). Therefore, I would just like to encourage us not to do any bragging lest God humble us.

I hope any who reads this will take it as given by a person who desires the very best for them. God bless you all, and the very best of investing to you one and all,
God bless you too New Born. Yes, bragging sure will lead to being humbled - whether it's God trying to teach you something, or just through a couple of silly mistakes. Just when you think you know it all and it's so easy is about the same time that you get hammered and reminded what it is that really rules......the Market! We're always several steps behind it, and only through great risk management and execution discipline can we make consistent money in every type of market.

Just posted a reply and it didn't make it through! :/
OK, round 2: I'm still bearish on the market until QQQ hits lower weekly channel somewhere - see my last QQQ chart in this thread http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...lyAugust17.jpg
Re sidelines: If you're only playing the bullish side, then when it's bearish you have to pick your times to go long and have shorter targets....unless you dollar cost average into long positions, which I don't recommend or believe in. I think if you average in, you should do it when your position is in profit and on pullbacks to channels. Dollar cost averaging believers don't use stops, which is crazy in my opinion.
But if you go long AND short, then you can always be in.

        Nice charting! Vere pretty.
I like it long. But I wouldn't be as aggressive as you. I'd wait for channel entry day.

Well today is the day to take XMSR long. I would take it long today around S1 or 26.95 and then put my stop just below the tip of wherever the head turns out to be for today. Of course, if the pattern doesn't form, I'd reconsider the position.

Long is the bias I see. That blue channel turn up is real bullish for it. What an impressive move to recover! It's moving up and away from the volume by price at 22.50, so you are sitting pretty King! PLUS: There is an inverted SHS that has a target around 27.00.

New Born...I know you read my thread too... at least from time to time...I like to tell people when I do well...but I also post my blunders and bad trades..."It is what it is"...I also try to make it clear that certain people know more about certain things than I do. And I know that I know more about certain things than many...I think the key is to read the posts of those who you believe are knowledgeable and truthful about what they are saying...Don't copy them...but take what they say under serious consideration...then decide for yourself whether it is helpful to you or not...That's what I do anyway...Best...IIC

                Thank You

                IIC,

Yes, I read your every post. I love the fact that you "tell it like it is." I am hoping to pick up some more knowledge from you. I am reading with great interest your day-trading plan. I marvel at the efforts you make to post all the "momo" and support and resistance levels, weekly important announcements, etc. You do a lot of good work for us on this board: you really do. I thank you for it. And please keep it up.

I never considered anything you have said to be offensive. I do not consider it to be boastful to report the facts of a trade. If someone says, "I made 2% on this trade" or "I made $2k on this trade," he is reporting the facts. That is not bragging. I think bragging comes in when we take the glory for profitting on a trade: "I am so smart I made . . . ." or "I am the greatest thing since sliced bread!" That's what I am trying to gently and lovingly point out to us all. The reason I am pointing it out is not that it offends me and hurts my feelings about myself, or that I am jealous that I didn't make as much money. I am pointing it out because it offends the One who gives the profit. God may decide that He has tolerated enough boasting and take away the profittable trades from the braggart. He knows how to do that (Daniel 4:37): "For all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride." If you read Daniel chapter 4 it is a true account about how God humbled Nebuchadnezzar by giving him a disease called "Boanthropy." There was a severe case of this documented by the AMA after WWII. (As an aside note, Nebuchadnezzar is the hero that Sadam Hussein patterned his "presidency" after; he got humbled, too).

So thank you so much for your good work. Best wishes to you and your trading. I'll be reading everything you write with eagerness.

Man, it's a good thing I don't rely on trading for a living...

I haven't bought a stock in at least three weeks. The lack of activity in the market is encouraging, though. I believe we may see things get going after September.

                  I can't wait! I'm pumped! I'm stoked!!! I'm in a zone!!!

GET ME A BEER!!! no...no...MAKE IT A DOUBLE SHOT OF BACARDI 151 AND A SMIRNOFF ICE FOR A CHASER!!!

                    Spike,

I'm looking at QQQ's chart. It looks like a reverse SHS to me. How do you think? Today, my only position TASR got stopped out. It had a very good run. I may short it again sometime in the future.

LOL Yup, get me a beer too. INTC selloff last night....a show of strength this morning....what's in store!

Well, let's look at TASR and see a nice pattern.....short the next spike!!!! Yoyo was short this puppy and frustrating for sure - because it's acting like a YoYo! But short is still the side to be on in my opinion.

Sorry to hear, but today is the shorting day. Wait for the perfect entry, and make your r/r the best it can be. Fact: Today is channel short day. Fact: there is a nice intraday SHS to short into at the next show of strength into resistence.

If you like options, I'd go with October Put at strike price of 30.00 and try to get them for $2.10. That's what you want....let's see if it can get back there from current $2.40 prices.

I'll look at QQQ chart now.

                          QQQ:
Look at both the weekly and the daily. Yes, daily is bullish, with inverted SHS and neckline break. Yet weekly is still bearish. It's a matter of whether the daily can overpower the weekly. The next few trading days are key, in that regard, especially with INTC giving bad news, and the sell off today.

Could you take a look at AH and TZOO for me? I would like to long on AH and short on TZOO, just lack of courage to push the button.

TZOO - careful shorting it right now, today has revealed a channel turn up which is bullish. There is an ascending triangle, which is bullish - and the volume there suggests we could see more upside. Now, whether another push up will become a Head or another L shoulder is yet to be seen. I would not short it now.
AH, I like the long side, but I don't see an entry yet. Perhaps on a nice selloff day and channel touch...
