re GOOG short (with put options)

Working nicely now and I'm looking to take profits at the most logical place - daily channel and S2. Entry was average of $0.825 per put. Price now $1.50 per put. Nice 81% profit. Probably get to 100% should S2 be hit today.

It was bound to happen- I was looking hard at a GOOG short myself when it was nipping at 200. Didn't have the balls to get in front of that train though!

Your 172 isn't very far away now.

Yep. Emotion keeps us on the sideline. Always a battle
The amazing thing with this trade though, is the price of GOOG when I bought the puts was 175.40 and 180 for an average of 177. Now days later, it's trading at 177 right now, and my puts have almost doubled! Go figure. Options are nuts!

But it works both ways. In the past I've been right on stock direction, yet my options have not moved or even DECREASED! But admittedly on those occasions, I was 'chasing' price, rather than being patient and haggling. With GOOG, I bought those puts when no one wanted them - when it was rallying. Now it's falling like a knife, traders 'want' these puts, so they're bidding them up! I hope someone reading this finds that tidbit useful!

Yep, well now's the time to be thinkin about it.

Took ELN long 26.54 at the close. I just noticed now today was a channel long too!
I'll have initial stop at 24.60 and give it some wiggle room.

Let's go forum! Who else is gonna chase this puppy and look for the pop?

Out at $28.11 for +$1.77. Only 6.7% profit on this one, but my entry wasn't the best and I chased it. I'll take this happily now and look to reenter lower.

I chased DHB this morning,saw it dip and then start rising,terrible entry at 15.95,
does chart support upward to 17 in your opinion.

I thought with todays strong market 17 was in the cards.

Any input ?

I got home early from work today and noticed that DHB was not doing so well, so I waited for a point to get out and took my profit at $15.42, which is about 13.5% over my entry point. Not bad a bad profit. This make 3 times I've made money from this one.

I think we're looking at DHB filling it's gap, which would give me another chance to profit once more. Earnings is due out on Tuesday, so I believe I'll hold off until then.

But then again, there are plenty of other opportunities! It's time for a new long...

So, who's got a good pick???

Yes, I see at least 17. First real channel resistance not until 18.30 and rising with each day. And if it gets to there, it's broken out and heading for the next major upper channel of 25.00ish. But many a slip between cup and lip, so as always, keep a sensible stop just in case that gap wants to fill. The problem with chasing is always the stop :/ Good luck with it!

A hearty congrats Websman. Profit is good, and that's a healthy percentage

I think the high volume at those gaps still gives them a chance to be runaways, but we shall see. I'll be looking to enter around 14, where there's good volume by price support and the recent gap support.
