  • Simple way to plot PP,S, and R

    H=yesterday's high
    L= yesterday's low
    C=yesterday's close

    The five equations for the pivot lines:

    P=(H+L+C)/3
    R1=2XP-L
    S1=2XP-H
    R2=P+(R1-S1)
    S2=P-(R1-S1)

    tried this out and found it pretty cool

        Hey Runner, those colored lines just gave me an idea for an exercise on emotion. It may be just me, but the color of the line influences me.

        Look at that last chart and particularly the blue line, with price tucked under it. How does the chart make you feel about potential price action? Does the blue line make you a little optimistic that price can break through? I feel a little that way, even despite knowing I should sell resistance.

        Now change the blue line to the color red. Look at it again, and be honest, how does it make you feel? A little pessimistic that the red line is rejecting price and it may fail? Cuz that's how a red line makes me feel! There's something about red being an alert!

        • Spike, very good point and I can see how one may perceive a signal based off color. Even though the Naz is finding trouble with the Blue line. It makes me think it very well might pop through it. Now when I use the red line it makes me think no way is it popping today. Very good observation and I have never thought of this….

                  • I think the Naz is in a tricky place right now. It is possible on this weekly chart the channel could end @ the 50% fib line or around 1970 area. Short term I'm thinking we may see a bounce up, but the channel very well may get tested

                      • Well here is my take on the NYSE using EW. I’m in the beginning stages of this study and so take this chart with a grain of salt. EW is not an easy thing to learn, but with time it will become easier. I can see a huge benefit in learning this.
