      • I may have pulled out early, but this green candle told me to take it and run. Now it might still rocket up but only trading my perception of the chart.

        • Congrats Runner. Take a look at ERS and VDSI sometime. Those two are rocking lately, as well.

              What?

              Runner,

What are looking to d/t Friday?

Me, I am watching for an opportunity on FDG and FRO. I already own FRO, and look for a run-up to the divy on June 3. FDG has a split and divy coming 29 June.

              • Bj- ERS has had an awesome last few weeks. Volume has been smok’in. Daily chart looks good, but might be a little extended for me. I’m not to crazy about the stocks that shoot straight up, unless I’m D/T’ing it…lo I guess one could play it if it pops 8.23 with heavy volume. Or you can see how it acts on the retest of the trend line. As for me personally I’d wait for a P/B.

VDSI same thing a little extended, but this does not mean they both won’t continue to run. BJ thanks for bring these 2 stocks to me attention. I’ll need to take a closer look at both..

You're welcome, Runner. And actually I apologize that I didn't bring up VDSI sooner. I've had it for a week.

happy, yes, but everytime I check this chart:

I can't help but feel a tinge of pain from the memory of my selling VDSI at $3, even though it was for a 20% profit!

                          • Not fired up yet Runner. You and Spike always stress taking emotions out of the equation, and I'm trying to do that. Especially not getting pissed at the ones I lose on.

Jiesen, re. selling early, who'd have known? I sold FORD at about 8.50 for 20% gain earlier this year

                            • BJ, from what I can tell the better one can put together a trading system the more emotions stay in check. The reason I say this is that you only trade what you see. When a signal is flagged then if you follow your rules you will exit the trade or enter, adjust stop, re-adjust tgt. Funny thing is we all have a different game. Of course what works for one may not work for another. I believe a system needs to be tailored to the individual. Sure the big dogs got the bone, but even us small timers get a bone every once in a while.

I could write a book of my awesome blunders and who cares. We learn best be doing and we learn from our mistakes. Now speaking of mistakes here is one of mine. I was D/T’ing HTRN today, I used poor judgment on it today and bot in @ 12.65. My target was 12.80. My wife comes home from work and I forgot about it and my stop was 12.59. I come back to the screen and guess what? HTRN was sitting at 12.59, market closed and so now I’ve got to try to get out at the open or reevaluate the situation and readjust the play. My plan was in place but distractions have cost me plenty in the past. I need more focus sometimes.

Sure I post a stock and think it is ready to take off and then boom the things sinks in the opposite direction, it happens. I’m cautious about posting entry’s because I’d feel guilty if I posted something and someone follows my lead and the thing tanks.

My short-term take on the market right now is use caution. I think we are over bought right now at least the $vix thinks so. But then again I’ve been off the key during this entire Bull Run. I was wrong and thought the market was going to get slammed 50 points ago. Hey such as life…lo

                                Runner,
I'm in HTRN at 12.75 an am holding 2000 shares. I don't know what your position is but your entry at 12.65 doesn't seem in jeopardy to me with it closing at 12.59. My own feelings on it are that it is going to be fine over the intermediate term. Right now it's shaking out some who have gotten in earlier an are protecting their profits. Institutional support has been increasing recently.

As far as daytrading the stock it has been experiencing a wide trading range daily from around 13 to 12.50 an I posted that I thought that there could be a decent play in doing that. Over the last few days it has usually rebounded from it's lows to close around it's open but today it never recouped back to where it opened. Just your luck today an it happens to everyone a certain % of the time. Wouldn't it be great if we could all be right in our assumptions but we aren't and that is where emotional control comes into play.

I've been noticing that over the last few days there has been some decent sized buys in the afterhours trading with it. 36,600 again today at 12.69. I'm still holding, after being up .40 and more and now down .16. I'm still very confident in the stock and what it will do over the intermediate term. Of course only you know what your tolerances are an it's your decision to make. Tomorrow could go either way with the long weekend coming up and people wanting to take their money home with them over the weekend. Exercise patience and don't react to quickly and let the emotions drive the mind functions.

I'm holding steady as my target is still the 15 to 16 range with the trade an I want to tell you to hold but I'm not going to do that as it should be an is going to be your decision as to what to do with the trade at this point.

The worst case scenario would be to react to hastily an exit the trade and then have the stock go up. Of course it could also go down more from here. Perplexing situations these trades pose on your mindset.
