I'm still in cash and waiting to see where the market goes. I wouldn't mind a Bear market for awhile...I love shorting stocks. Jeeeejejejeeeee

Hello Vulcan fans...
My thread has been very quiet for the past couple of weeks for a very good reason. The Vulcans are still in cash, because of the fact that the VTP indicators had previously predicted the down turn in the markets.
I'm encouraged, but not convinced by todays action. The Vulcans will be keeping an eye on Fridays market for a confirmation of a possible turn around. If the indicators look good, I will start to rebuild the Vulcan portfolio with some new winners.
It is possible that I may re-enter some of my former positions....but at a lower price than I sold at.
The last couple of weeks have been very fascinating. I have enjoyed watching the action from the sidelines. It was saddening to watch some of my fellow co-workers, who have their whole retirement tied up in the market, sweat it out. Some of my buddies lost as mcuh as $50,000 in their retirement account. How much did I lose??? $0 That's right... Nothing...nada...zip.
The lesson here for my fellow Vulcans is... Never, ever, ever place all of your eggs in one basket. I have the option to invest my retirement in the market, but a logical Vulcan knows better. A logical Vulcan would never invest any money in the market that he can't afford to lose. Oh sure, I could roll my retirement over into some "safe" funds but the returns would not be sufficient to make it worth my while. Why am I off on this tangent??? Is anyone here employed by the State of Florida? No? That's what I thought. never mind...
Maybe I should start lecturing to my coworkers about this stuff... No. It wouldn't do any good. Once the State gets you to switch your retirement from the pension plan to the investment plan, they won't let you switch back...then you're stuck. I'll stick with the pension and roll over 7 figures right before retirement...jeejejej Vulcans rule!

Just saw an old startrek which explained some of Websman's heritage here in the U.S. Apparently a vulcan family lived in this country in the early 60's (Webs kin?)
They were liked by their neighbors who considered them unusual and exciting when compared to the hum drum existence of the average citizen. They invented velcro , but in need of cash , sold the rights for a couple hundred dollars. That's all I saw no beginning and no end. Perhaps Webs can fill us in on some of the other details.

Here's two that I'm looking at..
PANL - Flat screen TV's are eventually going to dominate the market. This company will benefit.
MHOI - Nice uptrend. Worth watching.
I'll be staying in cash tomorrow as I'm not so sure that this selloff is over.

Here's an interesting stock...
ZP
This company is distributing the Smart car to the U.S. Market. This is a very popular car in Europe. With gas prices on the rise, this could be a good stock to buy.
