I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Register for free and you'll be able to post messages on this forum and also receive emails when $$$ MR. MARKET $$$ makes his own trades. ($$$MR. The stocks mentioned on this forum do not represent individual buy or sell recommendations and should not be viewed as such. Individual investors should consider speaking with a professional investment adviser before making any investment decisions.)

That last bid doesn't pass the smell test. Jumps from 10k to 20k in one bid? I don't think so...
Good thought. It could very well be a rigged bid. It's very easy to use phantom bidders to run an auction up.
Mine doubled in one day, but it was one single bidder who kept bidding until he hit my reserve. At least I can honestly say that all of my bids were from real live bidders.
New-Born,
I don't feel so bad now. Cramer only got me on CHTR and NT.
Because of that I've vowed never again will the pick of another burn me.
billyjoe
Congrats to you, only getting burned twice. I bought all five Cramer picks at about the same time, and well, you know what happened.
Hey, could you stop shoveling snow long enough to post a hot shot pick of the Day over on the new thread? If you don't buy another man's pick, how about posting your latest hot shot, and tell us why it is a long or short.
Wow BBW took a hard hit today! My first observation is that this is an over reaction to a dissapointing earnings report, but I'll wait to see what happens tomorrow to see if it bounces back or not. I still like the longe term potenential. This may end up being a buying opportunity.
TCBI is another interesting one. I'll watch it for a few days.
I'm still in cash...no losses , no gains.
I have tickets to the see the Ice Pilots play tonight. There's nothing like watching a bunch of young Canadians, beat the crap out of each other on the ice! ahhh...I can't wait.
BBW didn't bounce back, so I'll keep watching it tank and wait for the right buying opportunity.
DHB dropped back. Looks weak still.
So...It's off for a some good, clean fun, with a little violence mixed in. Hahaha!!!
After a great weekend, I feel refreshed and ready to trade again! The hockey fight...uhh...I mean ... game was great! The Ice pilots won all three games this weekend. The food was great and the beer was....hold it.....I didn't drink any beer...well, the Diet Coke was cold.
Now to trading.
I'll keep watching AAI. It gapped up, which means it will probably fill that gap before it continues up.
DHB looks like it's forming a base. Might be time to consider a long entry.
I still don't think SIRI is ready to run. patience is the key on this one.
I have a trading buddy who will be at the money show in Orlando this week, so I'm sure he will come back with some good stock ideas. I could have gone, but that would have required using some of my hard earned leave time.
Here is a great article that shows the potential of DHB this year.
FLORIDA PROFESSOR LEADS DRIVE FOR NANO-ENHANCED ARMOR
By Phil Long
The Miami Herald
Jan. 31, 2005 – A Florida State University engineering professor and fellow researchers are trying to develop a lightweight composite material to protect soldiers' arms and legs from bullets and shrapnel without weighing them down like knights of the Middle Ages.
Such protection would have helped Patrick McDonald, 35, a Florida National Guard infantry soldier and computer network engineer from West Palm Beach. He was on a rooftop in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2003 when a sniper's bullet tore into his upper arm and ripped through his biceps, taking him out of action for five weeks.
James Thagard, 34, a visiting engineering professor and researcher at the Florida Advanced Center for Composite Technologies, is taking what he knows about high-strength composites to develop lightweight ballistic shields that can be inserted into battle uniforms to protect arms and legs.
An Army study of 2,010 soldiers seriously wounded and evacuated from Iraq showed that of more than 3,600 injuries, over half were to arms, legs and other extremities not usually protected by vests or helmets.
"Even if you don't agree with whether we should be over there or not, I think everybody agrees that you have to do whatever you can to protect human beings," Thagard said.
Since the beginning of the Iraq war, more than 1,370 U.S. soldiers have been killed and more than 9,800 wounded, according to Defense Department figures.
Homemade bombs were the most common cause of injuries, followed by shrapnel, blasts, gunshots, then "all other," the Army report said. The study covered injuries from March 19, 2003, through Nov. 30, 2004.
Thagard is working under a contract with Armor Holdings, a Jacksonville-based firm. The ballistic shields will be ready for field testing in three to six months, said Dennis Lang, vice president for business development for the aerospace and defense division of Armor Holdings.
The Marine Corps is testing a leg protector, and the Army is at work on extremities protection for soldiers in vehicles and those who work with disarming bombs and mines.
The ballistic shield material Thagard is working on could weigh less than one pound per square foot for protection equal to vests.
The ballistic shields are less than a quarter-inch thick, weigh about the same as the material in football pads and are made up of multiple layers of ballistic and structural fibers.
Unlike soft composite ballistic material, the shields are rigid and can protect from blunt force.
Thagard and his fellow researchers are also working on a shield made of a polymer composite using carbon nanotubes. Nanotubes are like microscopic garden hoses, so small that a single strand is invisible to the naked eye.
As shrapnel or bullets hit the ballistic shield, the nanotubes closest to impact pull apart, absorbing the energy and protecting the flesh.
Point Blank, a Pompano Beach firm, is the major supplier of military ballistic protection vests that protect the neck, chest and groin.
The company has developed an extension to the vest to protect the soldier's shoulders and underarm area, producing 10,000 sets monthly.
Point Blank is also working on additional extremities-protection equipment, but the company is not ready to discuss details yet.

not ready to run?! channel long, channel turn up, inverted SHS, soon to be a gap up leaving an island reversal in its wake. While you're patiently waiting, the bus is leaving the station

lol...You've convinced me. I may try a small postion with a tight stop.

I was convinced...until I noticed the declining volume. Chances are that you are right about SIRI making a run, but I going to stay out. If you'll look at the chart for the past week, you'll see that, although SIRI has been in an uptrend, the trading volume has been in a steady decline.
Spike, I would be interested in your opinions about the declining volume. It is very possible I may be totally wrong.
If SIRI goes up and I miss the boat, I'll use this as a learning experience. That's what's cool about trading. Whether I win or lose, I'm always learning!
So the question is....Is declining volume on a rising stock a bearish indicator or a factor that will not stop the bulls from running?
Anyway, my wife informs me that she and her sister decided to go to London Paris and Rome for 2 weeks this Spring...And she already ordered everything...that's what I get for teaching her how to use the Internet...LOL
Oh well...I always wanted to go to Tahiti in the Spring...let's see...I go for 11 days...Nobody will miss me...IIC

I'm headed over on the 17th. We're only going for a long weekend and we'll be staying at a bed and breakfast just outside of Paris. It's a short trip, but it will be fun anyways.
I've placed a limit order for SIRI at $5.58 and DHB at $14.25. The chances of either one of these filling tomorrow is slim, but I like bargains. I will change my entry points, depending on tomorrows action and will look at the possibility of other longs.
BBW is still on my list and looks like it may possibly bounce back. Tomorrow should give a better indicator.
I'm being patient and will wait for the right opportunities to come along.
