I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Webs,
Just a note of caution. You've done very well without my advice, and I admire your good trades you've made here of late. I did look at PDC today, and it might very well come under the textbook definition of 'blow off top.' Lots of volume, a candle that demonstrates that she sold off powerfully after reaching a new high, and the Chaiken Money Flow is all red, and has been for two months. So I am just saying, "Be careful here." It is possible that she will pullback and charge again--I cannot tell. But I think tomorrow is almost certainly a red day for PDC.

Best to you, Webs!
I agree that PDC is due for a pullback, but I'm not daytrading it. My target is $30. I'm in at a good price and will continue to hold unless she does a complete nosedive.

Yes, today's candle alone looks bearish; but the beauty of his position is he got the perfect entry and HAS to be patient with it. It's the only way a great trade can turn into an extraordinary one. By getting cute with entries now is only going to increase the odds of messing up the plan completely. He has a plan, and the price action this week supports the case to hold it (see further explanation below).

You've got a much better chance now that it's booming up through that upper weekly channel; it's actually expanded this week. It's acting crazy bullish. Look at the weekly money flow NB! Webs, you have my official green light to hold this one and see what the market gives you. I'm thinking mid to high 26's right now You got the perfect entry, it's boomed through profit-taking territory, and don't miss out on this one like you did VPHM dude!
I hope it does give him the $30. My sincere apologies for any confusion I caused. Maybe I can watch and learn while he makes the $$. These charts show you my confusion. Look at these two charts and note the diffo: when I posted the first time I had only looked at the daily for the last six months.
Why are we so concerned with how well Webs is doing with this stock or if he is going to be able to keep his gains. It's great that he picked a nice winner. Now let him figure out what to do with it on his own an how to insure that he protects his money and gains. He was able to get into in on his own without anyone's help. If we must discuss the stock and the position let's keep it to the technicals involving the stock and the market and not what he should do with the position.
It's come out of a range bound basing period over the last several months with several gaps up. Webs knows those gaps usually fill at some time as people take profits. Also those last two candles after the most recent gap up on the daily aren't saying buy more of me.
Personally speaking I think it might be a long wait to see $30 and time is money.

Ski,
Friends try to help and protect friends. I looked at the chart, and the money flow on the daily was negative, yet the price was rising, and I saw a very bearish candle on Thursday's action, so I thought I'd send a warning just in case he had not checked the chart. I didn't think it was wrong to try to alert him to signs that the stock may pullback strongly.
NBB,
I'm sure he will protect and keep his gains with this one. If he doesn't then it's his problem. Personally I wouldn't go near it at this time an if I hadn't already taken some of the profits off the table by now, I would be keeping a real close watch or stop on it to insure I didn't give to much back. There are a couple of recent gaps up just sitting there waiting to fill. I'm sure that there are plenty of people out there who own it that are thinking about taking some of their gains off the table right now. It doesn't take much to start the ball rolling and then everyone will want to take their profits.
I know your heart is in the right place with trying to send an alert an it wasn't my plan to criticise or admonish anyone. Let the water seek it's own level.
I for one am glad you warned Webs of what could be a downturn on PDC I also have been holding PDC way to long? As you know I throw darts so guess I did not enter at the proper point I'm In at 15.72 and looking for the middle forties.[who knows] Anyway I was once told to always warn a friend of Impending danger so thanks for your analysis.

As always, God bless RL!
I don't do FA. But I think your dart throws are pretty good. I don't know how you do it, but you must be able to smell cash from a long distance away.
Remember when I speak of PDC, I am just saying that I think she'll pullback $1 or so. I have no forecast of longer term status for this stock.
I sold 1/2 yesterday, agree with the bearish signal. Actually, PDC has been full of gaps for a while, despite its strength. I never had the awesome entry Webs had (I did hit a LOD of 16.60, though ), so as Spike alluded to, I'm just around for a quick turn, and let the rest run.

I know it is early, but if PDC doesn't finish any higher than it is selling for right now at $19.35, you've got some topping tails to look at on the chart tonight.
