At the time of this posting, you have 45 minutes to place a pick for this week if you haven't done so already and want to avoid a 3% penalty for the week.

You also risk a 100% loss of that $110 investment, or at least a high percentage of it assuming the tide turns against you, and you manage to get out in a timely manner. That's the trouble with playing options vs. the underlying stock itself. Sure, stocks can lose it all too, but virtually always giving you a very long time to escape with a sizable portion of your initial investment intact.Originally posted by New-born baby View PostFor $110 you could have participated in the run up for a $6500 gain (per contract).

Use options and limit risk. Example: last quarter RIMM was selling a $75 option at $1.10 the day before earnings. The stock was then $73.75 or so. For $110 you could have participated in the run up for a $6500 gain (per contract).Originally posted by peanuts View Postyup, it could also really help you if the earnings report is stellar. That's what I was talking about... holding through earnings. I'm not sure I'll do that as a trading technique in 07. I got burned by AEY last year....
