I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Register for free and you'll be able to post messages on this forum and also receive emails when $$$ MR. MARKET $$$ makes his own trades. ($$$MR. Well, with recent history in mind I see a caveat here: a project like this needs stability, and for that stability it needs a keeper or keepers who are prepared to relativize their own interests a bit, for the benefit of this project. I hope I am belaboring the obvious. And in case you didn't realize: I speak from personal experience as a moderator of this board.

Out of all people I know in the Netherlands, you're my favorite...then again, I don't know anyone else that lives there...
I don't have a new pick for this week's POTW, so I'm going to stay with VIAC to see if it continues to go up.
So ... put me in the game as VIAC long please.
Mary
I looked at the VIAC chart just after making my post to stay with VIAC this week. At that point, it said VIAC was up $0.13 (delayed by 15 minutes). Too bad I didn't post before the market opened today.
Congratulations to Mimo, the Gator-dude, and the newest player, Jblaze (who's already starting a fire) for capturing the coveted top three on this strange and weird Monday.
Rob, I posted HERE that I wanted CAMH long today at the open. I know there has been a lot of discussion that intervened, so my post was easy to miss. I have been gone all day and just now checked in to see how I was doing.
I rather enjoyed the learning process that we could all see him going through, because it added that realism to the thread. I mean, here's a guy that DOESN'T really know all the stuff about Excel that some of us do, yet he was willing to put himself up there, errors and all, for OUR benefit.
I just thought it was a crying shame that since Rob had already perfected and automated the POTW scorekeeping that his program might not be utilized...
He was running the same drill but wanted to add his own degree of difference, if it’s not yours; you will never have the same passion for it! Thought I put my two pennies in. Thanks
I thought that I was a factor in Steckler's decision, but ultimately, he made it. I've regretted my posts to him, because he mentioned that he doesn't like holding hands, then he stopped posting...
To be honest...I thought that too. I think it was something you were saying about explaining reasons and he said something about doing your own homework...or something like that.
Now I realize that some here want to discuss details and reasons in depth...And that is a good idea...But everyone does not have the time or desire to do that. Maybe some here get many of their ideas from this forum and maybe for some this forum is the only real place they have to discuss stocks.
I get ideas at this forum but it is not my main idea source. I quit quite a few forums this year mainly because they were dying out or I just decided I needed to manage my time better...which I'm still dealing with.
Anyway, I believe Dave is a busy guy and maybe he just doesn't feel like taking the time to explain details...And I can appreciate that...However, I paid attention to what he was saying and I think I have a fairly decent idea where he is coming from...So when he posted ideas I knew it was up to me to do my own DD...That was fine with me.
I'm rambling here...But my take is that he didn't really want to participate in in-depth discussions...And to be honest...I don't either...But I find no fault with people that do...And to be honest, I've benefitted from reading many of them...Anyway, I wouldn't worry much about it...I'd like to see Dave post again...But people come and go...Maybe he'll come back???Best, Doug

If someone is tracking the POTW then enter my pick CHINA for this week.
I wish you well...I bailed at an avg. of 7.02 this morn...I fully expect them to screw up tomorrow's Conference Call...I paid an avg. of 6.80...I was glad to get out alive...Doug(IIC)

NBB, your post was not missed. I'm afraid CAMH is a disallowed, over-the-coutnter stock. I pointed this out at 9:38 a.m. on Sunday in this post and mentioned it again here. Had you changed your pick prior to the open Monday, then CAMH would not have counted as your first pick. As it is, you now have one play left for the week.

DUH! I missed those posts, obviously. Okay, thanks again!

STKY, I can identify with that notion.... As a young man (with time to burn) you Might consider building a scorekeeping program of your own.
I have an idea for you.... Or anyone else that might have aspirations as a future POTW scorekeeper.
Come up with a system that's proprietary and uniquely yours and prove it out behind the scenes. Perfect your scorekeeping system to where it only requires about thirty minutes of your time per night (because it will rule your schedule otherwise).... It would be nice if you included running totals for each player on a quarterly and annual basis. You could also come up with charts or graphs to show each players performance.... As scorekeeper you also have the privilege of modifying the rules. Then when you want to unveil it just say so. I'm sure Rob doesn't plan on keeping the POTW score indefinitely.... But remember this, Rockin'Rob has set a "high bar" of quality for future scorekeepers to strive for.
I will need to be going out at 5:00 or shortly thereafter this evening, and there is a possibility I will not be able to post the score before then. If that happens the score probably won't be posted until after 10:00 p.m. (or 7:00 p.m. on the left coast). Fret not.
