    Bela,
I've now made 7 separate NJR purchases in a SEP and a traditional IRA. My average is about 34.75. I'm reinvesting dividends so it's at a point where it's adding up nicely.*

Some NJR news: They have increased their dividend in each of the past 15 years, the latest being a 9.7% increase from 1.24 to 1.36/share as of Jan.4th. They've paid a quarterly dividend reghularly for 58 straight years. NJR is continuing a share repurchase plan started in 1996 that so far has bought back 6.4 million shares on the open market.
    * I don't know if reinvested dividends are figured into average purchase price by the broker's site.

      Billy,
If you have your shares in a DRIP they will be sending you quarterly statements. those statements will show the dividends being reinvested at the markets price on NJR on the day of the dividend being declared. so they reinvest at that days market price which if the stock is going up is at the higher price which we would hope the stock goes up. it's hard to have your cake and eat it too but it's all positive as you build more share quantity and the price of the stock goes up. the sooner it goes back to around the $48 level the better because then they will split again.

i wasnt expecting them to come out with blowout numbers over their previous qtr. or the past 6 months. i was hoping for them to be one or two cents higher this qtr than their previous qtr. and for them to say that their new product line was getting alot of exposure and recognition which it is. i am not unhappy in the least with their numbers or this report. what i did like was at near the close today there was a big show of interest and accumulation in the face of the earnings report which to me showed interest in owning the stock by someone. the report wasnt bad nor were the numbers bad. their totals between this qtr and last qtrs grosses were only off by $400,000/500000 which is negligible for what they accompolished this past qtr as far as expenditures for raising capital, initiating a new product, signing new contracts and developing new leads for their products. and actually their 6 month gross numbers regarding revenue were better for these past 6 months than the previouos 6 months. i wasnt unhappy in the least and i am holding a big pile of their stock. i saw today where they signed another contract with a health care firm which is a positive. from everything that i have researched about the company and their new product it is going to be a winner. since i took my position i have seen them sign 4 new contracts with companies in the healthcare field and that has only been about 3-4 wks. so i'm thinking their product line is catching on. an this report as far as the numbers are concerned wasnt that bad or that far out of line. i can only say be patient and see what tomorrow will bring. i feel confident that they will be doing very good as a result of this earning report and what they have going with their product. i would have liked to have seen the stock explode in price but i don't think that is going to happen. i do believe that the stock is going to catch on because of the fundamentals and the strength of their product. so i'll be holding on to my position and if for some reason i change my mindset on the trade i will inform everyone here immediately.

IMO, today ER wasn't that bad and nothing exciting either. However, I think they will have good number the next quarter consider the number of contracts they've already signed. One thing I'm not happy with is that they should announce the new contract a day or two before today's ER instead of waiting to publish the PR with ER.

My average is 1.07, I will see how investors react to the ER tomorrow to decide whether I should hold on or take a loss and move on. If I decide to sell the next two days, I surely to come back may be a month before their next earning.

Volume does come in but doesn't raise PPS so much. This stock is quite strange as it always manage to stay around $1. How is it possible?

Woo, I sold this AM at 1.04 (bot 1.024). Agree with Ski that the report wasn't bad, but it wasn't a block buster either. The stock is still just sitting there. It feels like dead money to me. And I'm probably wrong. But I feel better having sold it.

                        Averages

Can someone please help me in caluculating how much my average could be if I decide to buy more stocks in which im negative...

                        For example...

I bought ADAT at 1.07 and being that its around 1.00...im thinking about buying more at that price to average out around 1.00 and then selling to make up my losses...

Is there a way to caluclate how much I have to buy to average out even...

                        Any help would be appreaciated

                        thx

It's simple arithmetic, houston. If you own 1000 @ 1.07 and you buy 1000 @ 1.00, your average for 2000 is 1.035. You buy 2000 more at 1.00, your average for 4000 is 1.0175. etc. etc. etc.

BUT, you now own 4000 shares of a stock you were considering selling in the first place because you think it's going down further. If you had sold your original 1000 @ 1.00, you would have lost $70. If you now sell your 4000 @ 1.00, you will lose $70.

Like Mr. M says, don't fall in love with a stock. And DO NOT chase it DOWN!!! There is no better way to lose money! Take your losses and make them up with profits elsewhere.
