I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Forgot to add NYB acquired the deposits and assets of Amtrust in Dec. 2009 . Their dividend payout ratio of nearly 85% is one of the highest in the country. I like big dividends.

it looks like someone has been selling off their position yesterday and today but it also looks like there has been plenty of interest in acquiring those shares. i think we are in good shape with it and that it will trade up as expected. i always like it when you are in there with me billy. NJR doing better today also. back above $36.
yes it is wooish. i got the lead on it from that subscription service that I mentioned and you asked about. along with everything else they provide their subscribers with a chart of the day and a complete technical analysis on the chart. i caught this one at $7.75 so it's doing pretty good right now. i'm still holding. i did post on it here at the time that i bought it so everyone had a chance to take a look at it. i think there is still plenty of gas left in it's tank but the boat left the dock at between $7.75 and $8. i don't usually check the percentages but this one is up around 34 % right now in about 2-3 wks. if i exit 7 out of 10 trades at 7% or less but have 3 winners and let them run out like VSH i make alot of money. i've been on a good streak of late and have been running higher than that. i wish more people would take advantage of some of these plays. but thanks for noticing VSH.
Thanks MM. it is a nice stock and i was lucky enough to have caught it at the right time. one thing that i would like to say to everyone here is that these setups that i post are completely researched and well thought out. they are not pulled out of a hat indiscriminately. aside from the fact that i love to talk about stocks i want to see everyone make money. but you either come to play or you don't and those that don't will probably never make any money. plus i would love to see your forum return to the posting levels that we once knew. i see there are plenty of lurkers in here. i wish more of them would open their mouths with either their ideas or questions.

Ski...trust me. I have big plans for this site. I plan on being much more prolific, content wise, in the months ahead which will bring in new contributors. If we get a few more sharpies, like yourself, on board....the posting will really take off.
We lost a lot of members with a computer glitch several months ago but I don't plan on going anywhere for a long time and this community will grow and grow.
This choppy market scares off many people and makes others disinterested. But slow and steady wins the race.

The "miracle indicator" (RSI(2)) said go short VSH yesterday. A little late, but I have an order in now. Then watch it go up another 10% lol.
if you short it river, much to my concern, i hope it does go up another 10%or more. i think it's a bad move especially when there are hundreds, maybe thousands of other setups that you could play. not because i own it or you did but why would you think it is a viable shorting candidate? you would have to explain that one to me. i'm looking at the daily, which i don't trade off of but it is extended, but the weekly isn't showing signs of being extended and the RSI isn't signalling oversold and it's line is still under the 70 line. and if you did short it what would be your target. what do you think it would pullback to? to me the momentum is still strong to the upside. i cannot even wish you good luck with this play. sorry.

I just covered. You were right. I was going by the RSI (2) on the daily, and the weekly 200 dma that it just broke through decisively. Time to go long again soon.
I was actually waiting for the market to correct since Thursday but it never happened. I'm a little disappointed right now because due to my misjudgement I sold SFI and BUCY on Wednesday expecting market to tank on Thursday and Friday. Today SFI had a huge breakout (ouch for my pocket). I'm holding alot of cash waiting for the market to correct so I can buy cheap shares.

Wooish,
not trying to preach but acting on what you think or expect to happen always seems to backfire on me. i find that letting the markets show me what they are wanting to do or are going to do works out best. but having done the same thing numerous times i know the feeling. you will never lose protecting your capital like you did and the experience of missing out on moves after i have exited a position has made me rethink my emotional moves and find other ways to keep the position while protecting it at the same time. but it never hurts to have plenty of cash on hand and being ready to make a move. just don't let past mistakes rush your judgement in wanting to get back into action.
I picked up some $10 April calls on VSH for a buck. Thanks for the heads up on this one!
Steel
Steel,
that's great. i love to hear that others have enough belief in my setups to make the trade. and when they are making money with them it is even better. please make sure that you protect the gains and to give as little back as possible if the worm turns which at some point it will. like in Wooish's post above, exiting early with a profit sometimes will leave you wondering why you did that if the position move further up without you but the pain is not anywhere as severe if you give back most of what you had and end up exiting without any gains or at a loss. it's a thin line. great play and good luck with it. thanks.
Going to the Philadelphia Museum of Art today to view an exhibition of "Picasso and the Avant Garde in Paris. we have seen a number of the old and newer masters works but this will be the first Picasso exhibit i have viewed. on the way to the museum about a mile from the building we pass thru a section of Philadelphia where a very large number of homeless people
live and congregate. it is almost as interesting as the exhibit itself. they will be sleeping on park benches, panhandling and begging for anything, selling flowers, publicly drinking and intoxicated, and some will be openly urinating in the bushes. i always enjoy that part of the trip and take as many pictures as i can. i also take a lot of change and when we stop at a light throw the quarters out and they go nuts. it reminds me of when i was a kid and we lived in key west for a few years. i went to catholic school down by the waterfront in what was then downtown key west and after school everyday i would go down there and the tourists would throw money off the bulkheads and the kids would dive into the water after the money and you would have to fight like hell with the cuban kids for the money. it became an interesting part of my growing up and development and my emotional makeup. it wasnt like i needed the money but i enjoyed taking my share for sure.
