He never said anything about HSOA biting you on the ass.

It's been a very long time since the Yankees beat up on the Dodgers in a World Series. I could stand to see that again. Go Dodgers!!!!

I've only been to one world series game in my whole life...Dodgers vs. Yankees in 1981. I remember Welch got in trouble right off the bat but the Dodgers came back. About the only other thing I remember about the game was Reggie Jackson dropping an easy fly in right field...Doug

Well it looks like the Dodgers are in the playoffs. This could be interesting.

                  Doug and Ski,
You both seem confident the Dodgers and Yankees will meet in the World Series. I'd bet against it happening.

I don't really believe that the Dodgers will get there but I think the Yankees are a reasonable bet.

As big of a baseball fan as I used to be, I never went to a World Series game. But I went to game 3 of one of the most memorable playoff series ever, the 1986 ALCS between the Boston Red Sox and the California Angels. We had great seats right next to 3rd base on the field level. In that game, the Angels' John Candalaria beat the Red Sox' Oil Can Boyd. Two home runs in bottom of the 7th by Dick Schofield and Gary Pettis put the Angels over the top.

But it was game 5 in that series that was the killer. The Angels, who had never been to a World Series and with a 3 games to 1 lead, were one strike away from the championship in the top of the 9th when Dave Henderson hit a 2-run homer off of Donnie Moore giving the Sox a one-run lead. The Angels tied it in the bottom of the 9th. In the top of the 11th Dave Henderson (again) hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded, and Calvin Schiraldi shut the Angels down in the bottom of the inning.

The Red Sox went on to win the pennant but lost the World Series to the Mets in game 6 when Bill Buckner booted an easy grounder to first by Mookie Wilson, allowing Ray Knight to score from second.

Sorry to the Boston fans, but I was an Angels fan at the time, and I jumped up off the couch and almost put my head through the ceiling with delight.

On July 18, 1989, Donnie Moore committed suicide, and many who knew him are convinced that the loss of game 5 in the '86 ALCS was a major contributing factor to his ultimate demise.

                        Park,
Here's what I think on those two stocks you mentioned.

Re: Ski's Racers...MED first appeared on the IIC 100 at #3 on 6/16/06...It is currently #92. GIGM was actually #1 on 5/15/06...But I attribute that to a computer programming glitch with HANS...but it still woulda been #2. GIGM no longer appears on the IIC 100 because it does not meet all the minimum EPS projections criteria I set up...But I am still watching it...KNOT is currently #20 and ATHR is #83...Best, Doug(IIC)

                                Doug,
For some reason it came out to large and I didn't want Peanut to get mad at me again. So I deleted it and will post it later today. Right now my wife is on a tear cleaning out the basement of all my crap that I haven't used in years and didn't even know was there anymore. Just what I wanted to do on Sunday afternoon.
