I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. San Diego is the best place in the world to live. More info to follow...
Yes he does. We've had problems meeting up, believe it or not. One month he's working a lot of hours, now I am (and he probably still is). Once I do have the priveledge of meeting Doug, I can finally borrow his calculator
I had my first "Monster" energy drink at lunch today. Just wanted to share the experience for you all. First, I don't know where you can get one for $2... getting one out of the fridge at my local deli here in San Diego cost me $3. And that was for the small. Second, the taste wasn't bad. A bit sour- sort of like a Red Bull, I guess, but I've only had a couple of those, so I'm not too sure. Third, the caffeine level in the drink was noticibly high- note that the small size is still 16 oz, (about 2x the size of a Red Bull?). Couple that with a cup of coffee I had earlier in the morning, and I'm still buzzing at nearly 5pm! Well, I think that's just a bit more than my heart and wallet can handle on a daily basis, so you'll have to count me out as a mainliner of Hansen products, though I will continue to buy the occasional case of their Natural Soda line, since I quite like the taste of those. But as for the rest of San Diego, I do think this drink is and will continue to be thriving here, as evidenced by the fridge being well-stocked with these, and the fact that the next person in line also pulled one out for himself.
Next time you go in there, ask the clerk if the Monster is moving. Each convenience store is a microcosm of their entire unit sales picture. If same store sales are up AND they are expanding their distribution into more and more stores, their numbers reported in early August will be pornographic.
Go ahead and ask him..and report back to this thread. In fact, why don't all of you ask your local deli guy if Monster is moving. Let's do some grass roots research.
My guy told me sales were up 30% over just LAST MONTH!!

I live in LA. Not that bad, but SD is tons better.
Jiesen, I'll have to look you up next time I'm down that way.
Yeah, BJ, let me know when you plan to be in town, and we can grab a bite at one of our many fine eateries around here. But back to the topic of beautiful SD, there really isn't any place like it, imo. I grew up a spoiled So Cal brat in OC, so naturally, I am hugely biased towards California for its excellent weather, beaches, bustling economy. But after moving to SD for school, I realized this place is so much better than anywhere else in CA, and therefore the world. I think SD is a bit more laid back than the rest of the major metro areas in southern California, and it used to be a lot more sparsely populated, though this has changed a lot in the past decade. Traffic is getting a bit worse as a result, but it's still nowhere near what you'd have to deal with in LA. As far as places to live in SD, #1 place to be is La Jolla, if you can afford $10M+ for a home. Otherwise, try UTC area or Pacific Beach for more affordable, and more fun places to reside. I live in Clairemont, since it's probably the cheapest area that's decent, and central to the area. I hate long commutes, and living here makes it easy no matter where in SD I happen to work (which tends to change every few years, due to my profession). You couldn't pay me enough to take a job outside of SD. Anyway, I could go on and on about the great things about living here in SD, but if I don't get at least something done tonight my boss will have my head tomorrow.
My advice on the job, though, is take it. Be sure to ask for a lot of money though, because cost of living is pretty steep! (note the $3 Monster drink)

Sure thing, $$MM! I'll visit a different deli each day and ask them the same thing about their Monsters, and if they haven't got 'em I'll demand that they get 'em!

Report back what they say...I am really curious.

Ok, well I stopped by a 76 station on the way home from work, and checked out their mini-mart. They were stocked full of not only Monster drinks, but several other similar-type beverages, all sporting the same type of look. The Monsters were the most prominently displayed, though.
I went to the clerk to ask him how the Monsters were selling, and how long they had them there. He said they were selling them like crazy, and I asked which drinks he meant, since there were several types of the energy drinks. He said specifically the Monsters. I also asked how long they had been selling them, and he said "like, forever." I tried to get more info out of him, but he didn't seem so interested in talking unless I was either going to cough up the 2.50 for the drink, or the 2.79/gallon for gas. Of course, you'd never catch me paying that much, when I could run right down the street to Arco and get it for 2.59. (the gas, not the drink)
I think tomorrow I'll have better luck getting numbers from a deli guy who's actually going to feed me, rather than a gas station attendant I'm only there to annoy.
Well, I dunno about the rest of the country, but so far it looks like the Monster is a hit in SD at 2.50-3.00/can. (or 2.29 and 2.85 plus tax)
Reporting from North Central Ohio. At our largest store in town (population 1000) the owner says 'Monster' is selling very well at 1.99. He also said in the past he carried what he called 'Hansens energy drink' and it was terrible. This may have been a few years ago. Also was somewhat surprised to see they dumped KKD and haven't replaced them with a substitute.
Well, today I struck out in my quest for a Monster Energy drink. I visited another deli down the road, but found that they did not carry the Monster. I guess this store just isn't quite as well-stocked as most around here, but I asked the clerk/(owner?) whether he carried it before. He told me that he hasn't, but that people keep asking him about it. So I may have gotten him to think that he probably should start carrying it. Anyway, I told him he should get it, but my guess is he won't get around to it. Maybe I'll visit him again next week to check, and bring buddies with me to either demand he stock the stuff or we picket his place.
