Week 7 Cheap Stock Port Final Results Reinvesting to best Performers

Tuesday and Wednesday 5 stocks were stopped for an average loss of 3.2%. We took the remaining funds($483,930) and reinvested in our best performers at the time MOSS TLF ERS. MOSS was sold at market close Thurs. because it wouldn't meet the 2% stop Friday. Resulting in a further loss of reinvested funds of about $4000. This money then went to TLF which was stopped Friday resulting in a loss of another $10,000 including funds from ERS which also was stopped. To make a long story short, 3 of the 4 stocks that were doing well tanked when we reinvested funds in them resulting in a loss of 2.23% or $22,300 on a $1,000,000 portfolio.

I'm outa here ! TLF stopped at $99,417 giving us 8 losers and 2 winners EGY sold at +1.64% or $101647, but the big news is HOM sold at 5.35 after reinvesting $500,000 @5.15 giving us a 3.88% gain or total of $519,417 on the reinvested funds plus a whopping gain of 19.42% on the original $100,000 giving us $119,419. Bottom line one stock HOM makes us a profit of $38,836 in less than 3 days !

We sold everthing yesterday. Actually all hit stops except for our superstock believe it or not HOM up 19.42% in 3 days. This is the first time it wasn't stopped early in 8 weeks.

Interesting how this week played out. Put it down to the volatility of that key reversal day when the system got whacked. But despite that it recovered nicely by reinvesting!

I tell ya, there's something to this leveraging winners idea. Creme of the Crops 1 and 2 are living proof of that; both still alive and growing. In the sideways market, Superstock MCO carried the port through that sideways stuff and Crop 2 is even better than 1.

Anyway, I'm reading this thread with interest, so thanks for posting it.

So far the Hold and Fold method is up 2 weeks and down 6 weeks. Reinvesting is up 4 down 4. A clear pattern seems to be emerging. 7 or 8 stocks hit stops with 2 or 3 advancing by Thursday or Friday. Wednesdays and Thursdays they do well, but usually tank by Friday. Maybe I should study charts of the advancers more closely and pull out faster.
