    Runner,
Thanks for the encouragement. I think I'm going to continue the top 10 for my own use and buy every new stock that appears. Will put a 15% stop on each. From the past 10 weeks it looks as if I've got a 64% chance of getting at least 10% and an 81% chance of getting a gainer and an 11% chance of losing 10%. In a 1 week period only 37% were gainers, but in 10 weeks or less, 81% gained.

Short terming (1 week) these cheap stocks has proven to be the wrong way to play them. With these results I'm going to begin actively trading some lower priced stocks until things change. Already own #6 #13 #17 #35. See you on a future thread. This one is finished.

Final Summary of Hold and Fold Method vs. Reinvesting into Profitable Positions

Final Results Cheap Stock Port Week 10

Nothing was reinvested this week. I chickened out with one stock left TLF and sold taking my gain. Had I reinvested into it, thousands more would have been made today.

    NUAN stopped $95,949
    TSCM stopped -96,000
    AOB stopped---95,993
    HOM stopped---96,071
    EGY stopped---98,614
    MOSS stopped-95,974
    RWC stopped--96,039
    PRFT stopped--95,980
    SURG stopped-129,929
    TLF sold------104,493

Grand total $1,005,042 minus transaction fees of $200 leaves $1,004,842 or a profit of .48% for the week

Should have not sold TLF. Port would have made a bundle if reinvested. Good news is I own it in real life and on IIC's Pick of the Year thread.

Cheap Stock Port Week 10 Thursday

SURG stopped today with a gain of 29.93%

We've got 1 stock left TLF and no shares are traded yet.

Although SURG has made us $29,929 the other 8 stopped positions have lost approx. $29,350 and our TLF at last price was up $4100 so we're about $4700 to the good.

    Runner,
Don't you mean take winning trades and divide by total trades? It comes out to 37%. Of the 100 picks, 10 a week for 10 weeks, 37 were up by the end of the week and 63 were down. I'm sure some that were stopped did finish up for the week which would make the % larger but we probably avoided some monster losses also with the stops.

    Runner,
I'd like to do a list of good $10 - $15 stocks . You don't see that often. Seems to be a price range people forget .
Just did a quick look at some of the past big winners. It's running about 20%. Although if they stop below the open, I don't continue to track them for the week. I'm sure some have done well after being stopped. Here's some that weren't stopped or were sold (in theory) over the last 10 weeks.

    Week 1--GROW +14.87% ENG +5.93%

    Week 2--IFO +5.70% SPIL +4.60%

    Week 3-- GROW +18.85% MOSS +8.92% APLX +7.99%

    Week 4-- none

    Week 5-- SLW +8.38% NUAN +8.09% TLF +4.49%

    Week 6-- TLF +16.20% MED +6.00% SPIL +9.42%

    Week 7-- ERS +9.95% TLF +5.69%

    Week 8-- HOM +19.42%

    Week 9-- MOSS +7.47% GEOI +11.75% RWC +19.06%

    Week 10-- SURG +28.98% TLF +4.10%

Oh, one other thing sometimes by having a larger stop you reduce your drawl down thus allowing for better results. Sounds funky doesn’t it?

Billyjoe, I see one jumped 28% now that’s not chump change their. I’d be interested in what your hit rate has been in this port? I also wonder how well it would perform with stocks above $15.00

    Runner,
Guess I'd have to check the beta to find that out. I'll bet 75% of them have been getting stopped by Friday of each week, but the stops are down to 2% by then. If I didn't allow high beta stocks on the list it would be hard to get 10 each week. After Friday's close I'll list how all the stocks have done from the time they first appeared on my lists. They are pretty volatile , but I think a good number of them will do well in the long run. Maybe short term trading on these isn't the way to go.
