Trevor excellent earnings today/tonight in the semiconductor group....NVLS, MXIM, LSI, ALTR, etc. Tomorrow night two biggies KLAC and BRCM should set the tone for a while going forward. QCOM was out tonight with a so so report but I expect it will firm up nicely. Keep an eye on CAT in the morning which also reports.

Per the market the 60 minute charts are starting to put in some bullish divergences suggesting this corrective move is soon nearing an end.

Nice looking ending diagonal setting up on the SMH here...I suspect this breaks up and out of this pattern tomorrow.

Just wondering...I like your charts...But one question on MACD or other indicators...Do you ever follow shorter time frames? I do along with defaults...Never did a "Scientific" study...But I have found that I can get a heads up on what is "about" to happen in many cases...Just a thought...Best, Doug(IIC)

I like that weekly chart Lyehoppa.....will put on watch....sold 1/5 of my BRCM above 70....can't beleive it

As an update I sold my entire BRCM position this evening between 70.05 and 72.50....been a long while since I've had a gain of this magnitude this quickly. In any event I hope I'm not done playing BRCM...my strategy will be to repurchase BRCM in the 67 area...maybe tomorrow morning premkt should it so oblige me. And if not...then I will be increasing my position considerably in NTES, thinking we get a similar type move in it.

Congrats all on hitting the semiconductor sector hard the past few weeks...our efforts are paying off nicely. Still positioned in KLAC MRVL and SMH. Here are a few more bases in play here. CAT flying on earnings out of its long base.

I trade mostly off the 60 minute charts....and the daily. I do view the 5/15/30 minute charts but focus mostly on the 60 minute charts as I prefer swing trading versus daytrading/scalping. As we saw last night on the 60 minute charts they often give you a heads up of when to enter/exit proactively thanks to divergences in macd/rsi etc.

Thanks Rob...But it doesn't really matter if you are using Daily, 15min, or 1min charts for your trading in regards to my question...e.g. I use 1 min charts mostly for DT's...I use MACD (12/26/9) (10/20/5) (5/10/3)...I do not use the latter 2 as signals...I use them as a "Possible" heads up...Like if this happens...I better not take a bathroom break type of thing. I also use different periods on RSI and StochRSI etc...One reason is because I think most use the default settings...Doug

IIC... Do you use stockcharts.com too?... I'm guessing Robbb is using stockcharts.com cause that's what he posts.... I don't subscribe to them.... Yet.
