      Ernie,
I dumped every position I had: Out of ELN, an IDNX. Bought another full position in GGB at $19.80. Holding 2000 shares now. I can only say that your stock picking abilities are only surpassed by your ego. But in all honesty you have made a believer out of me after all this time. Any newbies will eventually, after witnessing a dozen or so successful trades on your part, come to the realization that although you love to bullshit you are not a bullshitter. Great play with GGB.

          "HOPES FOR A BETTER 2006

Gerdau is betting the Brazilian market will bounce back in 2006, in part because the economy is expected to grow at a faster pace and also because the government just announced tax breaks aimed at bolstering the construction sector.

"This year, with interest rates on the decline, the government's construction package, demand should improve and so should our profit margins," Frederico Gerdau Johannpeter, the company's senior vice-president, said on a conference call.

Johannpeter also said Gerdau planned to invest $3.6 billion in its operations over the next three years."

I agree with you on diversifying a portfolio, BTW. I think in one of my early posts I explained how excluding my swing trades and one or two daytrades, I typically hold a 50 - 75 position portfolio. It uses no stops, letting the diversification keep me from getting hit too hard if any one position heads south.
I thought Socratic method was more about teaching by asking from a unbiased perspective, building motivation and enthusiasm and positive atmospheres......give me the reference where it's about defiantly challenging, introducing bias and inflaming a defence??

Why not just politely ask and polite encourage? Many of your posts aren't exactly polite or respectful and certainly don't encourage harmony.

Just an idea: we don't start a discussion on the Socratic method, we are going to discuss $$$Mr.Market$$$'s method somewhere else, f.i. here, and discuss GGB in this thread. I know there are more threads were discussions are rather wide-ranging, but this may give us an opportunity to go somewhere else, wipe our shoes, and stop leaving muddy tracks.

I had been looking at GGB over the last couple of weeks an almost all of my trades are based on the the technical side and the chart. I liked the stock but to be honest I knew they were in the steel sector but didn't even think of any dividend. Always nice. Every dog deserves a bone.

Have to agree. The Shining was indicative of him at his scariest. A great performance.
