    Spike....

VPHM, calculate the % change from this day in 2005 to May 1 of 2005....It's like a 43% decline and apply that % decline to what I think will be the closing price of 19.50....look at a one year daily chart and tell me what you see.....Hint, chart gap at $11.15

Here's how I look at GGB.....This day last year GGB closed at $11.29 and topped out in early March 2005 at $13.85 for a 22.7% move.......Today, GGB closed at $20.31 x 1.227 for a target of $24.91.......Looking at the chart, if GGB can break through the pivot at $22.12, then add the recent range to that and you get $24.89....pretty close....maybe this is all coincidence, but I've seen it work too many times to brush it off that easily.....and, the t/a is still positive with yet again another bounce off that 30 day ema.....

sounds reasonable....not that I pay any attention to any of that. But if you are following it and making money, than it must be working for you.

Jim, in a 24 hour time span you went from "GGB is circling the toilet" and wanting to short this stock to "I brought down 1700 shares". I must not be as experienced a trader as you because that sounds totally ridiculous to me. Sounds like your opinion on this stock changes with every opening bell of the trading day.

It just goes to prove that Jim is only human an can have a change of heart and mind when profits are involved. That rotation was as good as anything that Shaun White or Hannah Tetter did in Torino. Way to go Jim.

Slightly above ADV but what is disconcerting is that the Volume Flow Indicator was slightly more bearish, despite GGB being up 3.5%. It's possible today was short covering action - not that it matters, because up is up. Tomorrow's action should help clear up the picture.

Broke support at the 20 day ema yesterday and broke resistance at the 20 day ema today. Is that a push and tomorrow could tell the short term story. Big gain in the DOW today and tomorrow could give some back.

                    • It's actually better than a push, Ski, because today's volume (an up day) was heavier than yesterday's (a down day). I'm surprised the VFI was weaker today than yesterday.

                        Dave,
I'm using Stockcharts and haven't seen a Volume Flow Indicator in their indicator options. Where do you get that from or do you calculate it yourself?

                        • VFI was written up in TASC magazine last year. I have the indicator coded into TradeStation.

                          • I look at charts to see which moving average is working best for a particular stock....the 30 day ema was acting like serious support and it worked again....plus, the Dow broke the triangle to the upside which I didn't think was likely.....I think if youre just buying off the fundamentals, you'd never understand my apparent flip flop....I just hope I am not wrong now.

                            • Here is a longer daily look at GGB. Notice that the chart is getting loose here. Now I think the next Bull task is to bring price above 20.87.
