  • Greetings from the Radisson Riverside in Augusta, GA!
All right weekend warriors, here’s your homework to study up on, apriorie (prior to), 8AM Monday. I’ve picked them you do the research:

    VAALCO Energy, EGY
    Endo Pharm Holding Corp, ENDP
FedEx, FDX (you should be able to figure this out easily)
    Arris Group, ARRS
    First Cash Financial Service, FCFS
My old friend, Dr, Reddy, RDY
    First South Bancorp FSBK
    And finally…………..
For those seeking a cheap long shot, give C, D&L, CDV a chance. Hey, if the railroads can do it, why can’t these guys?

Wild card: PBR, (no that’s not Pabst Blue Ribbon)

I have picked the above stocks as mover in the coming weeks, mainly because many are “b” listers with “A” list qualities.
As always, do your own research before you invest.
DISCLOSURE: I am long in RDY and FedEx. I plan on going into CDV early Monday morning, and will post if I do, and at what entry price.
Look for me on CBS, late Saturday and Sunday afternoons (early evening). I usually get quality airtime.

Wild card: PBR, (no that’s not Pabst Blue Ribbon)

Amazing, once again, almost a full slate of winners. With the exception of ARRS and RDY, which are down by pennies, everything else is up, and EGY was up over 5% at one time this AM.
Please share with me, how you find these stocks. I know how to do some basic research, but what I don't know, is how to find the stocks to do the research on.
      Thanks, and congrats!

I'm glad it worked out for you.
If you had any friends get on BHP 3 or 4 weeks ago, when I put a bullish buy on it, they should buy you a big steak dinner!
It went out last night at 42 and change and opened today over 44! That represents over a 25% return in less than a month$$$$

                • As I have stated on several occasions, my one bullish, American Pharm pick remains SGP. With that said, I was browsing through some pharm selections, and Endo kept popping up. I liked what I was seeing all the way around, and had planned on posting it as one of my picks, until…a press release today at 4:50 PM.
ENDO Pharmaceuticals, (ENDP) looks good from a couple of different angles; black numbers in all the right area, a leader in the pain management field, a strong pipeline and money to put into substantial R&D (not to mention that they are 10% off their 52 week high).
Here’s the snag: They put out a press release this afternoon alerting they will announce first quarter earnings next Thursday, April 20th, before the open of the market. No big deal, except, they also announced CEO Pete Lankau will host a call at 11:00AM that morning to discuss those numbers. To me, that’s a red flag. One of three things can happen: Numbers are in line with the street, they beat the street (significantly) or they fall behind on expectations. The only reason to host a call is if your numbers need defending due to unusual circumstances, such as a one time write down or your numbers beat the pants off the street. What to do? Be trigger-happy.
Between now and next Thursday, keep an eye on ENDP, do a little digging to determine this would fit in your portfolio, and get out early on Thursday, and tune into your favorite
Financial news source, Bloomie, Squawk box, FNN, CNNFN, whatever you think will get you the numbers quickest and get ready to buy on a good report. If they announce prior to 8AM (eastern) and you have EH trading, put an order in right on the spot, or at the tick of 8AM. Watch the bid and the asked, and put a limit in somewhere between 9 and 18 cents over, where it went out the night before, (and make sure you check what the EH price was on the 19th, not the market close).
If they beat the street, you may well see as much as a 10% pop that morning. If the numbers don’t come in, walk away. If you get to the table late, be cautious not to chase it up too much, the short sellers will be waiting.

                  • Ok, I’ll admit, I found this as a fluke on Monday while doing a little research on Delta Airlines, but here we go:
Delta Apparel, DLA. These guys make a ton of tee shirts. From what I can determine, Delta supplies tops and bottoms to specialty boutique stores, higher end nation department stores, college bookstores, the US military and a slew of other outlets.
If you want to sell a log tee shirt, good chance it will come from Delta. Take a look at the numbers, not too bad. Take a look at the institutional ownership also. There are some pretty well known banks and money mangers in the mix.

Trico Marine Services, TRMA. I believe you will hear some decent earnings from them, along with a couple of good orders on the way, this ship company is looking at smooth sailing in the coming months.

BTU International, BTUI. Look this one over carefully. I went in here yesterday at 17.49, and it’s up 14% already. I went in looking for a target of $22.74, but that was prior to today rapid run up. I still believe there is another 10-15% left here, but I can’t say how soon. My original thought was late 2nd, early (very early) third Q. After a pop like today, it’s much tougher to call.

DISCLOSURE: I am long in BTUI and will be wading into DLA sometime Thursday.
As always, give them a good look over before you buy.

What I will do is give you a handful of stocks to start with.
Do the research on these, if you like, buy, if you don’t, ferret out a peer company or move onto the next. From these 5 firms, you should be able to come up with 15-20 others to look into.
If you really get stumped, PM me.
                        Good luck:

                        Ennis, EBF
                        Relmwireless, RWC

I do not have an interest or position in any of these stocks. As a matter of fact, I have not done any research on them at all. You will probably ask, where or how did I come up with them? Simple, they all received analyst upgrades in the past couple of days. That is an easy place to start when you need fresh ideas.
