XRTX Update

I'm firmly of the belief that digital storage is going to be a hot industry for the next year or more, and Xyratex looks like a good play in that space.

Once again I lose out by not following my gut instinct. When I first posted the above on 9/20, XRTX closed that day at 19.30. I should have just bought the stock, but no, I tried a stupid options strangle, and both sides of the strangle died on the vine.

Well today XRTX is up just about 22% from the 9/20 close. Somebody tape a kick-me sign on my back, will ya?

Of course the market rally helped, but it could very easily have performed much worse than that methinks.

AXS - New Position

For the record, I bought AXS (not ASX) yesterday at 33.97. It wasn't the greatest day to open long positions it turns out, but I bought it anyway. So now I do own the stock I'm playing in the POTW.
