If I adopt you your odds of getting into the college increase dramatically. Being a legacy (i.e. one of your parents is an alum of the college) is supposed to be the number one factor in your favor in admissions to the college.

A Mass initiative to allow sale of wine in convenience and grocery stores is losing 57-43.

Bummer...Although I don't particularly care for wine anyway...I'm more of a Beer kinda guy.

Funny though...In CA beer used to be cheaper at the market than the liquor stores or Jr. markets...But nowadays the grocery stores are much more expensive than the smaller stores....Super Markets had separate Liquor depts. up till about the early 80's...But no more....Times change

Yup. Last time it was a fakeout though, up early in the day (after earnings were out) and down late if I remember correctly.

I hope it doesn't do what ERS just did to me... Hopefully, I'll still be able to get out with a small profit before it drops anymore.

I don't understand what's happening with ERS. Looking at Yahoo on the chart it appears to have gone south about 3:30PM eastern but the earnings report they have says 4:26PM. And some guy on Poormans thread is "patting himself on the back" for getting out at a more favorable price. But how could he have done that? He didn't say whether it ws before or after the close.

Isn't that unusal to report during the day? And isn't it a smidge unfair to many folks who don't/can't watch the markets a lot?

It sucked for me, but stocks drop after hours just as easy as they do in the middle of the day.
Either way I'm screwed being that I work during the day and also the fact that my retirement account doesn't allow after hours trading. I'll have to take what the market gives me in the morning.

Some do...most don't report during market hours. Actually, I think they reported even before 3:30pm EST. It's unfortunate but I rather doubt that cos. are concerned whether or not the retail investor has time to watch the markets.

That time you mentioned ...4:26pm ...was simply when the PR was released...they are not necessarily in sync w/ the actual announcement. In fact the 10Q time was 3:02pm.

A few times when I was really bored I have watched DJ News late Sat. night...early Sun. morn...I've seen PRs released on eps around midnight Sat. night a couple of times....Doug
