TOKYO...Finance ministers and central bankers of the Group of Seven industrial nations will enter full-fledged talks on accepting China into the group, the Mainichi Shimbun reported on its website, citing an international finance source.

At a meeting in Palo Alto, California in mid-July, deputies of the G7 finance ministers will discuss issues including helping China shift to a market economy through by deregulation and adopting a more flexible exchange rate system, the report said.

Some G7 members said that it is becoming difficult to carry out constructive economic debate without China, and unofficial talks with China have been held on the country's currency system and heated economy.

Japanese Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki declined to comment Tuesday on the report.
