I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. That article made my eyes cross. I'm not sure if his speculation is correct regarding the recent weakness. The Nov 17 review shouldn't be anything more than a bunch of blowhards trying to sound important and cautious. What credence is a smart investor really going to give them if they don't actually make a real decision? When it comes down to it, a bunch of old men with fears of loosing their virility are going to vote YES to get medicare and medicaid to cover Provenge. That's the bottom line, isn't it?
This stock is turning into a longer term investment than I had hoped for. I'm currently down some and thinking I might move the money somewhere else if there is a good place to put it. Wondering about the possibilities of takeover. Am thinking the geographic logistics of treatment might also be limiting for any willing pharma company.
Just thinking out loud here.
Tomorrow is the 17th, so I guess we are in for some news either way. Soros has put down a big bet on DNDN. He's a pretty bright guy, so maybe there is more to Provenge than just medicare approval. However, if approved, this stock could soar to new highs very quickly... and then there is Europe to consider. According to the article (posted link) the European market is 1.5x USA... and then what about the rest of the world? Sure, there will be a "delivery" issue, but if they are onto something (which I think they are) then new production facilities will spring up in all the key areas.
Also, this new way of fighting cancer... using the body's own immune system... might be the way to fight other forms of cancer. More R&D will surely be done and if, and I mean IF, they figure it all out... well, you can blow kisses to yourself in the mirror everyday if you bought shares now.
I'm getting waaaay ahead of myself here, but the potential of finally beating the scourge of cancer has me pretty pumped about this company. If they do it, then any profit that I do make from owning the shares will be nothing in comparison to the benefit to humanity. But it all comes down to tomorrow's meeting and what the panel has to say about Provenge extending people lives. Let's just take it one day at a time and wish the guys luck.

River,
This aint no baby but I just got into CELG at 56.50 thinking that concerns over Revlimid are overblown. This will probably turn into a long term hold. I've been waiting for a pullback to get in.
River what do you know about INSM Insmed Inc ? Took a beating after an 8K filing with the SEC, BUT INSM is coming alive .....I smell some money can be made at .595 cents per share here on way back up to 70 Cents......What say you?
Does the company have any vaible pharma products?
Thanx and have a beautiful weekend!
billy, I saw that too and thought of you. I didn't buy either, but didn't expect the previous news was so bad that they would take this action. Gonna have to start listening to billyjoe!
Bot LCI today at $5.00... dilution taking place but an PDUFA date of Dec 26 is coming up. '
River - did you get in?
not yet dmk. I'm still healing from my ALXA burn, so more cautious now. But I have been watching LCI and the positive comments. Need to do some DD too. Way too busy with other things. Need a gift of TIME for Christmas!
But Dec 26 might be Dec 23 or 24 if FDA taking week off after Dec 25. Or the company might get it early and not release until the 27th. P.S. like(!) the new site!

Geez Loueez, what an ugly chart! (Dec 6/10) Insmed Incorporated , a biopharmaceutical company, announced today that it has entered into a business combination, effective immediately, with Transave, Inc., a privately-held, NJ-based biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of differentiated, innovative inhaled pharmaceuticals for the site-specific treatment of serious lung infections.
At least two new upper managements positions (CEO & Chief Med. Officer) are from Transave. http://investor.insmed.com/secfiling...=1104506-10-22 Looks like they're shaking things up, in view of an extension by NASDAQ of delisting until June 2011.
I think there could be a runup to get the stock to $1.00, in the light of the Transwave deal.
Transave's lead product candidate, ARIKACE? (liposomal amikacin for inhalation), is initially being developed for cystic fibrosis (CF) patients with Pseudomonas lung infections and lung infections due to non-TB Mycobacteria (NTM). The combined company intends to initiate phase 3 clinical trials for ARIKACE? in both indications in parallel during the second half of 2011. The results of these trials are expected in the first half of 2013, and will be followed by regulatory filings in the U.S. and Europe for both indications, pending successful trial outcomes. Based on current assumptions, the combined company believes it will have sufficient cash to progress ARIKACE? to commercialization in the U.S.
Transave, which holds worldwide rights to ARIKACE?, was previously granted orphan drug status for the drug candidate from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as the European Medicines Agency (EMEA), for the CF indication. The combined company intends to file for orphan status with the FDA and EMEA for the NTM indication in 2011.
It's a Phase III results gamble, but it's still a cheap stock. I think it might be an opportunity to get it up to 1.00. They look determined to do so.
