    River,

Duh! I never connected HCA with Bill Frist. My old brain had forgotten about him. Had he been from Ohio I'd have remembered. HCA IPO is scheduled for week of March 7th. Estimate is $27-$30. Beth will be getting in semi- big time unless something changes in the next week. Someday these hospital and pharma stocks will pay off. Probably just in time to pay for adjoining beds in the home for our golden years.

      billy HCA

Making sense of the latest news in finance, markets and policy — and the power brokers behind the headlines.

HCA Buyout Proves a Boon to Investors The players that took the hospital giant private in 2006 - Bain Capital, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, Merrill Lynch and members of the founding Frist clan - stand to make nearly $3 billion from the deal. HCA has filed to go public again in a $4 billion initial offering, the biggest ever by a private equity-owned company.

The 2006 deal, struck at the height of the buyout boom, shows exceptional, or exceptionally fortunate, timing by the company's current owners.

        River,
We've got our order in but now the Frist family, owners of 19% of HCA say they don't want to sell much. IPO has been reduced by 500 million. Broker doesn't know exactly how many shares they'll have for sale. Reminds me of when Kirk Kerkiorian offered to buy out F employees at something like $5/share. So many agreed that he couldn't or didn't want to buy. He bailed and lost a billion or 2. My brother was fortunate as he was forced to keep what led to profits of many thousands. In this case I wish the best for the Frists just so we can get a piece of the pie.

                River,
Well, HCA was oversubscribed so we got only 100 shares at $30. Will have to find a good stock or 2 to buy on this dip.

At least you got some. Did you see the volume? At 3:30 it is over 58 million. I'm sure I saw over a million in volume yesterday also, even though it wasn't public, the volume was registering. Really strange I thought.

                    Hgsi

                    Hi River,

I saw that HGSI had a really big day, up 13%. It looks like the biotech sector as a whole did pretty well today. That's really impressive considering everything got smacked today. Everything was down, stocks, oil, gold, silver.

Usually something goes up within these; stocks, oil, gold or silver but not today, except HGSI. What are your thoughts on HGSI? Do you think it's worth a look or worthy of some cash?

                    Thank you,
                    Best,

                      Thank you,
HGSI today got FDA approval for its Lupus drug. That's why the jump (the positive coin toss). I wouldn't buy in now. A lot of sellers who held through the decision and now will take profit. I heard HGSI is a potential takeover candidate, but who knows? They have a co-marketing agreement with GSK. I'll let you know if I hear anything more.

Pete, I don't know anything other than what I am reading on Yahoo. Don't recognize the name from any of my reliable sources. Sorry.
Just checked the twitter board for ALZM. Looks like a definite PUMP right now.
Also googled it: Definitely a pump. http://www.hotstocked.com/article/41...m-makes-a.html

River thanx just received this email "Elliot Brady picked up 8,000 shares of ALZM at 1.01
reasoning: looks like it could be the next mailer runner!" Apparently ALZM paid 800K for the PUMP ......lets see what happens as the mailers and email goes out ......personally I think the company is BS ......BUT money can be made with a sell limit order.

                                River,
I just knew you'd be aware of CBLI and the radiation connection. I think you first mentioned CBLI in 2006 after I mentioned a new pain pump being used at Cleveland Clinic.
