billy, considering the R/R, it's probably not too late, altho you know how prices seem to sag Fri PMs. Just remember, this is a BET and if it goes to trial, it's anybody's guess how a relatively inexperienced jury will rule. Like the man said, it could go to a big loss if they don't settle.

P.S., I wrote this before I read your edit. Good luck to both of us billy!

River, I assume you became aware of VRNG because of the patent controversy. I'll admit I haven't looked at GOOG since I sold or would have been familiar with VRNG. Just what do they have that GOOG needs?

          GOOG vs. VRNG

Holy Mackerel ! VRNG seeks a settlement more than 3X their market cap and it seems the odds are in their favor. It sure looks as if GOOG would just buy them out sort of a Goliath paying David to drop the slingshot.

          VRNG--$178,780,000-------------GOOG--$250,770,000,000

They have bot all of Nokia's patents. As well, one of the cofounders of VRNG is inventor "Lang", whose patent on search link arrangement based on users preferences (+++) is charged to be infringed by GOOG. And, having read the claims, I believe it. VRNG had a very favorable "Markham" hearing, which takes place first as an analysis of claims to determine if they are very likely infringed and VRNG has a case to take to trial. There is lots of background in 'seeking alpha' articles that will fill you in. BTW, Vringo was/is originally a "ring tone" company, hence "VVVVRRRRING!!!" hee

                billy, it's gonna be OK

This guy always makes me feel better. I followed Mark Cuban into VRNG, not just because he's one he$$ of a smart investor (as demonstrated by Shark Tank), but also because he is also gorgeous to feast my eyes upon. ("Eye candy" just doesn't express it!) http://seekingalpha.com/article/9072...le_title&ifp=0 The press release: http://corporate.vringo.com/ir_NewsReleases.html

River, You're a genius ! I'm now ahead on VRNG, bad news is it is partly because of my son who just e-mailed me that he put in a market order for VRNG and it cost him 5.48 but he might have the last laugh yet. Note to self. No market buy orders.

P.S. Did you see the shock on his face Friday night when one of the "applicants" called him "cubes"? He said, "DON'T EVER CALL ME CUBES!!! I'M OUT!!!"

River, I saw that. If you called him "Cubes" he'd just blush and say "schucks".

River, I e-mailed my son that article and he wondered if I knew about 2 other lawsuit based trades by the author. I don't know where he got that information but the stocks are NEON and a baby biotech, TROV. Do you know anything about any patent infringement suits with either of these ?

                              These are the two articles:
                              NEON

I got all excited over this and bot @ 5.90, going to 30. I looked at the claims and was not impressed. On 7/19, posted this: "Forgot to post, sld NEON last week @ 6.04. Got out because I saw a good analysis of the patent claims and AAPL should be able to get around them. Don't see 30 for NEON any more. Got out with +1% green. I'm okay with that."
Neon is at 3.61 today. Done, I think.

                              TROV

                              finance.yahoo.com/news/trovagene-inc-achieves-intellectual-property-100000556.html

I don't see anything here about infringement. The stock broke out after this article. http://www.stockpickr.com/5-stocks-u...o&cm_ven=YAHOO It's a pure technical play from here IMHO, but I have no interest at this time.

River, Thanks for the info. I'm glad you're Rocky Riverbabe, not Cuyahoga Riverbabe , otherwise I'd get "burned" by your investment ideas, Ha Ha !
